What does order pending mean?

I ordered the DnD offical rpg soundtrack about a week ago and the order status has been "pending" for much of this week. I'm just curious as to what this means. Are you all simply busy and it's sitting in a bin somewhere waiting to be shipped off? Is there something wrong with my payment method? Or is it being shipped to you from somewhere and then being shipped to me? In any case thank you for your time.

"Pending" means that either we're waiting on product from a distributor or manufacturer, or we've got the product and it's in the queue to be shipped. It's a general sort of "things are moving along the way they're supposed to" message.

We'll be updating the FAQ with this information (and more) later today, after we make a few more changes to the store.

Wondering about the status on the Gargantuan Black Dragon Icon mini.... My local gaming store has had them for several days, yet my order status still shows "pending." I would have thought that would have updated to show it had at least been received by Paizo....

We're no longer showing whether we have received stock or not, since it was leading to confusion. We plan to bring back that level of detail after we work out a couple of problems that led to items appearing to come into and then go out of stock.

We received an entire pallet of Gargantuan Black Dragons on Friday, and are beginning to ship them today.

That's good to know about the detail--I kept expecting to see that change!

I'm assuming that we'll receive confirmation e-mails when they ship? Also--if there were more orders than minis received, I would assume that we WON'T receive notification that they weren't mailed, but our order will still show as "pending"....

Yes. ( And we got through almost all of the preorders today.)

That's how the system would work, yes. However, no worries in this case—we ordered more dragons than we had preorders for.

yeah. never mind that my first order of dungeon issues #118-121 took forever to get here, and when they got here, dungeon #118 didn't have the greyhawk poster map in the sealed polybag. never mind that neither of my e-mails to customer service (and i use the term loosely here) were answered within the last two weeks. when i decide that yeah, i really want to have that poster map, and reorder dungeon #118, my order has been 'pending' for about a week now. what the f? what are you people doing over there?
