I am trying to make up a "Who killed the innkeeper" type mystery adventure and I was wondering if there are any adventures out there I can look at. Also if there is any feed back from anyone that has played this type of adventure and how you liked it.

***Just off the top of my head***

I would think that you could easily steal the plot of one of those "How to Host a Murder" games or even a well known (and quality) classic murder mystery like Brother Cadfael or Name of the Rose. Of course you'd have to re-engineer the characters into D&D tropes, but that shouldn't be too difficult (especially for Cadfael and Rose, as they're both medieval). Just give yourself a firm grasp of the timeline of the crime, as well as what/where the clues are, and set your PCs loose.

Wow... I've really convinced myself. I'm stealing this idea.

Liberty's Edge

You might want to take a look at the classic 1st Edition module "The Assassin's Knot." That was build around a murder mystery. I would image that you could download the the pdf from this website.
