Sorcerer on Black Dragon Question

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I just got mine yesterday and I am very happy with the product but.....

It is numbered 55/60 and is shown on the new Miniatures poster as well as box.

I thought this particular miniature was supposed to be special release. If it is going to be in the set anyways for people to get from the packs I would feel a little gipped at forking over the money when I could have gotten it eventually buying the packs.

The miniature that Paizo offered to Dragon and Dungeon subscribers exclusively was an alternate paint version of a mini that is in the WotDQ set.

It was made clear in all the ads that I read, that this would be a special paint of a miniature that was in the set. Generally speaking that means that there is a lot more detail work on the mini than what is in general release. Detail is incredibly expensive when they do these minis and so cost prohibitive to do a whole set in high detail. Thus they offer limited quantities through associated companies to the hardcore fans that have better detail work.

Here are large photos of the Paizo exclusive repaint and the regular version for comparison.
