In the event that the Apostle's barrier is broken early, & is unable to reach the PCs, the text says that it will attempt to break through the floor of the arena & escape into the city.
Has anyone had this happen, & if so, how did it turn out? Did this ruin the rest of the Champions Games?
Also, say the creature breaks out early & turns anyone with fighter levels into a son of Kyuss--is this enough to unleash the negaitive energy, turn Raknian into a death knight, etc? Or does this require the "ceremony" involving all the spectators dying?

This is something I've been puzzling over as well. My PCs killed Bozal without him having time to release the Apostle. When the thing does finally get released one to three days later, can it still complete the ritual?
I'm leaning toward assuming it still can, and that it will go after Auric or anyone else with fighter levels, preferentially, before attacking anyone else. What do folks think?

The module does not say how many people fit in the stadium.
Actually, it does. About 18,000 (though Erik's Clerkburg article in the Living Greyhawk Journal says 20,000).
Those of you who fought the Apostle why it was still underground--did the creature break out?
I'm assuming this would be a likely scenario once the PCs figure out they can stand far enough back without it being able to reach them.
How would Raknian handle this should he wake in the middle of the night to find one of the teams has released the creature & are fighting it in the arena?
