Bait & Switch on issue #136

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Issue 135 stated that we'd have an adventure by the fabulous and often Greyhawk-heavy Greg Vaughan, titled 'The Coming Storm.' I note on the upcoming web page for the new 136, that instead, we're not getting 'The Coming Storm' but instead are getting a Forgetable Realms adventure. Can anyone elaborate. Please accept my humble plug for anything Vaughan writes in the future.

Greg, just how many relatives do you have?:)

"The Coming Storm" is in issue #136. The web preview of which you speak actually has the info for #137.

Thanks much Gentlemen, as always.

I do hope Mr. Vaughn has additional relatives, assuming of course that they share his fondness for Greyhawk.

Incidentally, Mr. Pett, since you stopped in, what are the chances of a sequel to the Styes???

Just to steal Rich's thunder here for a bit... the chances of seeing a Styes sequel in print soon are Very Good.

Ah - someone with great taste - as all memebers of the Vaughan family have! Well, that would be splendid...:)

Gosh, as if by magic, the lovely Mr Jacobs has let a potential cat out of the bag of holding. And of course, to come back to the original point, more Mr Vaughan adventures are always, begrudgingly, welcome...

*drools on the thread*

Gimme more of the Styes instead of Maure Castle any day - and twice on Sundays!

*drools some more*

I shall look forward eagerly. I can almost hear my players terrified shrieks already...

Actually, Mr. Vaughan and his big brother (who shall remain nameless) have a co-authored Campaign Workbook article that's been languishing since 2004. But I'm not bitter . . .

Aww, I'm touched.

Liberty's Edge

The Styes was a GREAT adventure. I'm not a DUNGEON cheerleader, but the mag has been good to great for a while, regardless of who's in charge and what's in it.

A sequel to THAT adventure would be wonderful.

Frog God Games

Honestly, Rich. There you go messing up a perfectly good thread. tsk, tsk

Thank you, Mr. Stewart, for the kind words, and please pardon my comrade's gaffe. He's socially inept, you know. Really, sometimes he just won't take his medication.

As to the Styes, I've been sending him ideas and basically entire rough drafts for sequels to help him out for some time, but everytime he touches them it all turns into ropers and topiary golems...sigh....Well, I suppose the good gentlemen at Dungeon will be able to put something together for him.

As to the CW question, Brent, I'm afraid the Red Arrow Company may be the Dead Arrow Company by this time. Best not to get our hopes up on that front.

What's wrong with being a dungeon cheerleader? Just what the hell would you use for pompoms? Anyway, give me more Styes and/or Richard Pett and/or Greg Vaughn anyday, all their stuff has been very good.

::puts down pompoms and megaphone::

*picks up pompoms made from illithid heads*

Styes, Styes, it's a place
That everyone loves to hate!

Yay, Styes!

Well, I just don't know what to say...

The adventure is called The Weavers, it features the famous Styes Reaper Clock and a race against time to prevent a terrible plague, and that's probably more than I should say...

Except obviously to say I hope you all like it.

:) arf

Rich.

Just to make ammends, a tatty little ship called Tammeraut has just made a guest appearance in something I'm drafting - I'm sure Erik will want to remove the stain from the otherwise fine submission though....

My pleasure Mr. Vaughan, your excellent work makes compliments a forgone conclusion. Please keep cranking out Greyhawk goodies. Your work means a great deal to many of 'us' who follow the setting.

I don't suppose anyone would care to tell us when we might expect to see The Weavers make an appearance?

Sure! It'll be appearing in issue #138.

Wow, and still no one defends the reputation and/or honor of the author of the FR adventure that was so casually maligned . . .

I tried, but no one takes a fat, bald 38 year old carrying pompoms seriously......

Outstanding. We only have but 2 months to wait for it.
You guys rule.
