Savage Tide Adventure Path

So, as a new AP is looming so temptingly on the horizon, what would the chances be of any aspiring Dungeon and Dragon writer/contributers adding something of their own to the mix?

I presume a story is set out already. Adventures surely will have been divided up amongst a pool of l33t and experienced writers etc.

So where does it leave us noobs?

Look at Campaign Workbooks and Critical Threats - they are the easiest way for a new author to get into the magazine, and you tend to hear more quickly than on adventure queries - though I still have two that I submitted over a year ago that I haven't heard a peep on (beyond a confirmation that they were received). Not hearing isn't always bad either... as many of my subsequent submissions have made it into the magazine. The editors seem to hang on to things they think they might be able to use rather than saying no to it.

We solicit everything for an Adventure Path, picking authors who we think are particularly suited for the adventure or backdrop in question. The Adventure Path requires not only excellent writers, but writers who are knowledgable with the rules, able to work from an outline, and can turn over manuscripts on time; it's a huge project, and we can't risk an adventure assignment for an Adventure Path on an untested author, is what I'm saying.

If you're interested in working on an adventure path, the best thing to do is to get published in Dungeon and prove to us you know how to write, know the rules of the game, and can turn in articles by the deadline. The Campaign Workbook is the easiest way to break in to print in Dungeon, but we also print a lot of adventures by first-time authors too.

Stop teasing me :(
