Ideas on putting SCAP in Eberron

Shackled City Adventure Path

I know, I know! This has been discussed many a time before. However, I have just ordered SCAP and I am planning on putting it in Eberron. I will be using a lot of the AoW conversion info for advisement, but I want to ask the people who have put the work into their own conversion. So my questions are...

What are your suggestions for adapting the SCAP to Eberron?

What are the pitfalls that you encountered?

What are your suggestions for giving the Eberron "feel" to the campaign?

I plan on starting the game on the 1st saturday of next month, so I am beginning to prepare. One of the things I plan on doing is handing out a player handout to make things easier on the poor fools, er, players. Another thing I plan on doing is adding a few Eberron specific side adventures as well. I also will change some NPCs to be more Eberron specific.

I appreciate the advice that you are willing to give.

Best Wishes,
Kevin

Liberty's Edge

I placed Cauldron in Q'barra.
As well, I changed some names to fit Eberron and made some npcs members of dragonmarked houses.
Other than that, I tried to keep it as it is, because I shyed away from the amount of work.
I toyed a bit witht the idea of having Adimarchus be an imprisoned Daelkyr lord, who is influencind Khorvaire and that the main goal would be bringin Xoriat "nearer" to Eberron again, so that the Daelkyr could invate Khorvaire once more.

I will have to review SCAP once I get it, but I was also thinking of having the Lords of Dust involved too. I like your ideas, however.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both for the advice.

I for one am pretty disappointed that they didn't include some conversion info in the hardcover. I am thinking about running SCAP alongside Age of Worms (two gaming nights) but I really want to put SCAP into Eberron. Thanks for the link, looks like there are some good ideas in there.

I put Cauldron on the border between Breland and Zilargo, on the far east end. There's a break in the line of mountains and a House Orien road there that goes past. Between the two countries not being at war and the collaps of the gnomish enclave Jazridun (sp?) Cauldron has languished. It was a back water post that the player had mostly been sent to by House Deneith or the heirarchy of Dol Arrah as appropriate as punishment or to try and help out the town respectively. But all of my players at the time were either soldier types or holy typs so that covered most everything. I have a spur of the House Orien line traveling up to Cauldron, with the Laughing Monkey (?) inn as a waypoint on that spur. Redgorge (?) is SW of Cauldron. The only confusing point is that all of my cardinal directions are rotated 90 degrees.
