During Drakthar's way I decided to do some basic foreshadowing and sent a pair of dream sequences to the players which consisted of the following:
Dream #1
The next time your character sleeps you experience the following dream sequence. It sticks in your mind as it seemed so vivid and real.
You feel you are standing somewhere holy and special. Before you stands a grand cathedral of epic proportions. Obviously dedicated to some good power of some kind. The cathedral is magnificent in both size and beauty with dozens of gigantic stain glass windows. Devas and other angelic beings circle the cathedral and sing a chorus of thunderous worship. One particular deva stands out from the rest having a particularly noble bearing and wearing golden armour with wings of fire. This bald headed deva seems to be looking at you directly and beams a benevolent smile of welcome to you.
As quickly as the dream started it ends when you wake up feeling happy and accepted.
Dream #2
You stand before a ruined cathedral in a hellish environment. You know its the same cathedral you had dreamed of before but now it looks like it has been cast down into the abyss or some other infernal place. The devas and other celestial beings lie slaughtered around the remnants of the cathedral as if they had died defending it. The particular deva you saw before with the wings of fire and the benevolent smile is still there. But he looks much different. His skin is no longer golden but black. His wings are gone and in their place are 4 snakes which jut out from his back. One of his eyes smoulders - literally - it gives off smoke. His smile is no longer welcoming or benevolent and you can see a touch of madness within.
As quickly as the dream started it ends when you wake up in a cold sweet.
All the players bar one pretty much ignored them. This player has gone so far as to hire the most expensive researcher from Bluecrater University to get some more insight into the dreams. Now I want to reward his effort but I also don't want to tip the future events to clearly. So was curious how much information I should give away here. So far he knows its about a battle which caused a part of Celestia to fall into the Abyss. And the layer is known as Occipitus.

I dreamed sequenced Occipitus with two of my PC's as well as I jusdged them as the two most likely canidates to pass the final test. In the end it was the one I least expected that sacraficed himself. I didnt give details at first just vague and uneasy. As the PC's got closer to there destiny with occipitus the dreams became more detailed. I focused on the physical asspects of occipitus and not the back story. Both players liked it.
