Character help please.

3.5/d20/OGL

I don't ever want to tell a DM, I told you so, but he's thrown down the gauntlet. We've rolled stats for a Dark Sun 3.5 game. Check out www.athas.org for more info on Dark Sun 3.5. The DM has asked, because Dark Sun is a very harsh environment and he is equally a tough DM, that min/maxing is highly encouraged.

So... I've chosen to run something I've never played. A Thri-Kreen Psychic Warrior. Only the core books are allowed and that includes Savage Species as well as all the Complete class books, and naturally Expanded Psionics book. No Forgotten Realms stuff.

I'm very open to some suggestions here.

Thri-Kreen by the way get...
+2 STR, +4 DEX, -2 INT, +2 WIS, -4 CHA
They start as a 3rd level character. (+1LA, 2HD)

multiweapon fighting is always a fun way to go when you have four arms.

I saw this on a Gamespot thread (http://www.forumplanet.com/gamespy/topic.asp?fid=6113&tid=1205262& p=101) and thought you'd be interested; the player has added the winged creature template (from SAVAGE SPECIES, page 137- a book which your DM has specified as acceptable) to his Thri-Keen Fighter(his bio states that wings were fused to his body in a magical experiment). I reproduce the character below:

(Pay special attention to his feat selection - he has made great use of the fact that he has multiple arms).

Hope I'm of help

Description: The creature is known to many as the Dust Warrior, and only to himself and to a corpse as Ikx-Chul-Kni'Zatzchris'Nakaxixk, is a fearsome-looking one indeed. Its carapace, unlike that of a normal Thri-Keen, is a very dark, dusty colour, with its gigantic, insectoid oval eyes dark voids of black. Other than the slightly off colouration, it appears much like a normal Thri-Keen, but for the two huge, spindly bat-like wings stretching from the small of his back, tattered black pinions that when not beatings against the sky fold into his back, or when he is resting, fold around him in an eerie embrace.

Like all Thri-Keen Ikx has no need for sleep, but once a year he goes into a state of hibernation, finding a warm, moist, dark, pristine spot somewhere, entouring his wings around him, and then going into a trance-state until he is awoken by external stimulus of any kind, or a day or two pass, though sometimes it has stretched on for even a month.

NOTE: ASK YOUR DM before you waste your time making a cool character with a template that he hasn't allowed, as even if the DM has allowed the book sometimes they don't like everything it contains.

Just a bit of personal advice: I would recommend that you play a Soulknife instead of a Psychic Warrior for these reasons among others:
- (almost) no need to buy weapons,
- good HD (d10),
- (4+Int mod) x 4 skill points at first level, and then 4+int mod for all levels afterwards, as opposed to the Psychic Warrior's (2+Int mod) x 4, then 2+int mod skill points every level from then.

However if you're dead set on playing a Psychic Warrior good luck to you (you're going to need it for Dark Sun).

I like the idea of just maxing your powers. I would go with multiattack combined with 1st-expansion,prevenom,metaclaw 2nd-dissolving touch The thri-kreen seems like it was made to be a psychic warrior. I would go for weapon finess if you have a high dex and iron will to avoid the many psionic attacks awaiting you.
