To the staff/writers/artists involved in 340--bravo! Great issue!
I've been brewing up some ideas for how astrology works in my HB campaign, since a star deity who sponsors astrologers and an artifact that allows one to predict the positions of the stars for thousands of years to come (if you can get into the heavily warded chamber guarding it) figure heavily into one of the campaign plot threads. My constellations are already set up, but the articles provide some cool methods of working astrology into the campaign!
Also, (as noted in another post in AoW messageboard) the illustration for Wormfood is priceless! (LOL).

Got this yesterday...how to put this delicately?
Obviously "Wee Jas Chick" has had some silicone enhancement at some point. I was wondering what Mr. Pett was alluding to with the Temple of Wee Jas in Alhaster, I guess now we know. And now I understand why the iconics never have enough gold for new duds. It's all spent on cosmetic surgery. ;D

i'm too poor to not be choosy. :(
i get about 1/3 - 1/2 of the issues that come out every year. though things like Demonomicon and Campaign Classics have kicked that average up a bit. ;)
I hate to break it to you, but if you're buying half the issues at newstand price, you're actually paying more than if you got a subscription.

It is a good issue but it would be better if I had got all of it. As noted over on EnWorld, several of us found our issue #340 was missing pager 51-66.
If your issue goes from a Elf under moonlight to an Illithid having a little snack, you need to contact customer service at the bottom of this page.

Looking around... I see 329, 330, 332, 333, 336 (just to see my name in the preview credits, heh), 337, 338, 339 from 2005 scattered about, which is actually more than I would normally buy in a year (I blame the damnable increase in articles I like), so I guess that is more than half for a change.
Prior to 2005, I see that I have issues 315, 320, 324, and 325, and unless I misplaced them, I don't have any between 288-315 (entirely possible that I misplaced them, mind you). I was really broke in 2002-2003, so I may not have gotten a single issue; I don't remember.
So, I may just be forced to take action and subscribe, if the price difference is as you say, if this trend continues. ;)
And yes, I am on a budget. Not counting the core rules books, I have bought less than 30 D&D books since 3E came out, and most of those before I got married. I probably have over 100 books from the 1E/2E days (I'm not going to count them), but back then I was single and most of my income was disposable. :) That makes a huge difference for those who don't know. Since I can't put my wants before my family's needs, I have to be selective in how I spend my cash.

Wee Jas Chick looks a little uncomfortable to me, but I've never seen a strapless garment that can create that kind of compression. The steel reinforcing strips on the corset, maybe?
But what I was referring to was the priceless looks on the faces of the seamstress and the Tiefling. I guess now we know what makes Tieflings evil--envy of the tailless.

I really enjoyed the various Astrological rules, but I do have one (albeit minor) gripe. I say minor because I can easily fix it myself.
The article on the Zodiac signs (chimera, basilisk, beholder, etc.) only includes 12 Signs, which is fine if your gaming world is operating on a Solar Calendar. If it's on a Lunar Calendar, though - you need 13 Signs.
Like I said, no big deal to cook up a 13th sign, but it would have been nice to already have it in there, since the rest of the articles in the magazine had stuff to fit both Solar and Lunar focuses already.

Trust me, the person who created corsets should be drug out and beaten with a +3 corset of compression. I'd like to see how tightly the laces have been strung - the steel would help with the "compression," not to mention the being unable to breathe. (Years in the SCA, that's how I know these things...)
