Hi, I'm just posting here for the first time and would like to add my congratulations on the new format of the Class Acts column, I have to agree with the others, its definitely a major improvement on what it was before.
I've just got one question I'd like to pose though. I've recently been given the go-ahead to write a Class Acts article on the monk and I was wondering how this affects it. As far as I can see the writers guidelines have not been updated yet. Are there new guidelines for writing an article of this type? Is my article still relevant or will I need to re-write it to fit the new format?
Thanks for any help and advice you can give me.

In addition to what Ashavan mentioned - non-core classes are being covered as well. In the current issue, the Hexblade had an article. Mike has recently said there'll be a psionic article appearing shortly. And I have no doubt there's other non-core class goodness, just waiting to see the light of day. :)

I let my subscription to Dragon expire, in part, because of class acts. What is the new format like?
Thanks,
Sebastian
That was the ONLY reason you let it expire?
The class acts got a bit tedius to me after a while. I saw them as too much of good things or enough already (take your pick).
But with only 4 per issue and more room for each of the classes to be detailed, I feel Dragon got the mix right.

I was definitely a big proponent for changes to class acts. I can't say that the current format is my idea, but I know that it is what I've argued in favor of. And I think I really do like the changes.
The articles feel meatier. Even the recent article on wizard spell selection felt pretty good to me, and I don't usually care for those articles. They usually provide too much "duh" or not enough explanation. In this case, they actually mentioned why some of these choices were good (no SR, no save, etc).
In any case, I think I like the new format. I'll keep reading it and see if it looks like there is still room for improvement. But, generally I really like the new format.

No, as I said, class acts was IN PART a reason I let it expire. "In part" implies less than the whole.
If I were to assign a percentage, I would say that class acts contributed 10-15% to my decision. The section was dead space to me. A single page just wasn't enough to develop a good idea or redeem a medicore one. The pages might as well have been blank.

Mike M.-
So that you are less-sad, let me counter the subscription-expiration news by mentioning that a friend of mine just subscribed to Dragon after reading the excellent Hexblade article in issue #313. So, yay, you!
:)
As a Ranger junkie, I really liked the Ranger article. I plan to take "Concealed Ambush" for my Age of Worms character. Sweet.

Thanks,
SebastianThat makes me sad. :(
I hope you like the new format, though, and decide to return to the fold. :)
I've actually decided to re-up next month. You're sad face persuaded me of the error of my ways. ;-)

Woot! I like hexblades and rangers, too, so there's a good chance they'll continue to receive support (so I hope you and your friend continue to enjoy the magazine!). :)

Double woot! Another happy(?) reader guilt-tripped into subscribing to Dragon. ;D
Seriously, though. Welcome back. We hope you like what you're going to see. :)
