im sorry if this is a repeat question or has been answered already, there are four pages of posts to go through and im basicly lazy... :-)
but im sort of confused by the monmth to month subscription rate, is it going to be $17 a month or am i reading this way wrong?

and just to voice my shock and awe about the whole end of dragon and dungeon, i really dont know a world where there is no such magazines. even when i was not actively playing, there was always a dragon or dungeon mag to help keep me going, be involved and kept my interest.
it truly is an end of an era.
i will give the new pathfinder a try and will have to wait and see what the price really is going to be.

As it has been stated, its all about the money. 4E will come out when they think that all the cash that can be pulled from 3.5 has filled the coffers.
Im sure that they are thinking of 4E or maybe even playtesting it during one of those weekly games they all talk about.

I predict that 4E will come out before the end of the decade.

so is there a mapset or a set of map tiles that would be good to use for this that is useable by minis?

as mentioned above, the class acts were either very informative or they beat a dead horse to the ground.
i was no big fan of the old format and im not sure i like the new one yet but i am glad to see the non-core classes getting a day in the sun

hey
so now im worried about my order that i juat placed over the weekend..it says ready to ship on all my items but now i dont know if it will get here before christmas based on what others have said here

i enjoyed the section on the spelljamming creatures a lot
i still have all of the SJ stuff i bought yrs ago
i love the scro, and im glad that there is an official update to them now

it seems to me that no chain store is carrying it, like wal-mart or target
i have checked at a few hobby and gaming stores and they dont seem to be able to get copies either

and you can do a google search under the images category
and yes, they are baddies to fight aganist but they are fun to run as a DM

spellweavers also appear in two seperate articles in dragon number 338..ecology of the spellweaver has an intersting rune system/ alaphabet for these guys; and there is an advanced spellweaver that has a CR of 12in that article
the other article is a sort of spellbook that was created/desinged by spellweavers

most likely i would be an undead former human skeleton as i would last about 10 seconds in a DnD type world
now, if i were to undergo a major body change, i would go with a half-elf fighter/wizard

online, as in play by post, has never really given me the DnD expeerience so i just play my temple of elemental evil or diablo online

and if you can find any spelljammer sets, you could modify the rules and or ship sats from those

what about a glossary and index combined?
define any new words or terms used in that book and say what page or pages it is on would be helpful as well

i used this as an NPC a while back, the encounter went well
i think the trick to this PrC is to make the first class of a high enough level to have some good spell choices and some helpful feats, dont just take the PrC as soon as you can
the NPC i used was a seventh lvl wiazard and a third lvl demonologist, she summoned a dire ape that almost took a few PCs out...the group thought it was an excelelnt encounter and they still look at things as if it was being caused or helped out by that NPC

i think a magical energy pool system like in the diablo games would be interesting, the more powerful the spell, the more enegy it takes out of the spell pool you have

midnight has a cool concept but a lot of players dont like having the roles reversed so much in favor of the baddies..the first ed campaign book had a binding problem with it so mine feel apart but i had it spiral bound and it is much easier to use

if i can recall, this article used herbs and plants to make salves and or patses that could be used under bandages and such
kind of like neosporin or bactine for DnD
it was also done in one of the Best of Dragon books many yrs ago

the section on staves or is it staffs?
anyway, that was a good section for me as a wizards familiar seems to be rather useless, i forget i have one most of the time
the bit on boccob was cool as well

i saw it on the night it aired on the sci-fi channel and i thought it was a much better version from the first one( i have the DVD of the first one) :-)
i thouhgt it was coming out in stores on nov 8th but noone around here carries it yet and BN.com says they wont have it until feb of 06

the first character i can remember goes back to the end of the days of revised first ed.
he was a halfing fighter /8th and a thief/21 by the time we ended his adventuring days, i was a big sci-fi fan in those days so i gave him a name from one of my favorite sci-fi shows,Adama
it was a sort of monty haul campaign as at various times i had the rod of seven parts, a deck of many things(i had used my allowed cards from it but it still stayed with me) and the throne of the gods...had to destroy the rod in a retributive strike that i barely survived..had less than five HP left...he also went on a dragon war on the side of the neutrality, helping to maintain the balance...had some nice armor for this guy, studded leather plus 5 and i could go to thew etheral plane at will(this was used aganist me several times)
i keep wanting to do the final conversion of this guy from second ed to third or 3.5 but never seem to have the time
i could go on but i think this is good enough

years ago, back in second ed., i had a guy that was running a 1oth or so level half elven fighter who thought he was the most awesome thing in the world after he survived a "football" game with some giants(no, he wasnt the ball)
so any ways, the next encounter we had was underground and it was with a nightmare, i placed the creature there to try to teach him a lesson....when he rolled a 19 on his first attack and got ready to do some major die rolling for damge, the look on his face was classic when i told him the sword hit but does no damage...he forgot that he was using his non-magical bastard sword....his next action was to run

my two cents worth..
if a book has a complete table of contents, i dont think it needs an index as well
that would be rather redundant
