Glitches in the Hall


Age of Worms Adventure Path


In the Hall of Harsh Reflections there are more glitches
then previous adventures.
The Whispering Cairn had directions that didn't match the map.
But the Hall had monster Cr's and place ELs.
Which do I use. I finally started asking the players to choose.
Where is the brown mold the charecters are supposed to help the
freed prisoners get past?
Screamers you hold your ears and run past.
The infiltrator Doppleganger Thief went ballistic when two
adventurers coup de grassed two sleeping dopplegangers.
I had the dopplegangers feed the imprisoned charecter to a mind flayer and then confronted the characters with the body.
Then the Palidan went mad. (I am sure I misspelled that.)
Is that how I was supposed to handle this.
The characters managed to kill the mind flayer when he first appeared. Other Flayers came to steal his research and avoid the characters. I had them leave a note on the wall calling them "The butchers of The Age of Worms" No one else had read the new book on aberations so they didn't get the time travel
perspective.


*Where is the brown mold the charecters are supposed to help the freed prisoners get past?

-I think that you are confusing the dangerous yellow moss-like substance with brown mold in HoHR Drow camp, at the sewer entrance to Zrxog's lair. This moss-like substance permeates the area that the "screamers" inhabit. So you can run past the "screamers", but your jogging adventurers will be making two Fortitude saves (initial and secondary) to resist the deadly Con damage.

*The infiltrator Doppleganger Thief went ballistic when two
adventurers coup de grassed two sleeping dopplegangers.

-If you run the adventure as written (and you certainly do not have to), this infiltrator doppleganger would have exposed his true self in the understructure of Sodden Hold.

*The characters managed to kill the mind flayer when he first appeared. Other Flayers came to steal his research and avoid the characters.

-Sounds like you've got extremely powerful PCs or you sold Zrxog short.

*I had them leave a note on the wall calling them "The butchers of The Age of Worms".

-Illithid's leaving notes on walls for adventurer's to read - I gotta say that is pretty humorous.


I did mess up. I didn't see the part about the yellow mold somehow.
Mind Flayers will never stop to mind blast this group anymore.
I think leaving insulting messages in common is like cow tipping for mind flayers.
Mind flayer,"Use smaller words dude. Remember, these are people."
(The two mind flayers start laughing like Bevis and Butthead.)
