All Hail Uri !

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I would like to thank very much Uri Kurlianchik for the great adventure he wrote in #129. "Murder in Oakbridge" is not only a great reading but is also a marvelous incentive to buy Eberron campaign setting (which I don't own yet, but it's a matter of days now). This is what I call a scenario. The story is solid, it's non-linear, the NPC's are well-designed, they all have in-depth background and have well thought-out relationships. False leads are well made and are logical. I definitely ask for more !

I understand that all players and DMs like to have their share of dungeon-crawling. However, from what I read on these boards, a good number among us also like event-based stories. Would it be possible to get more mods of this kind and quality ?

Again, congratulations to Uri. I loved it !!! Did he write anything else professionally ?

Bran.

Oakbridge is an excellent adventure indeed. Non-linear, built around set events, and does not use a dungeon (which i felt was one of the real buzz killers in "Steel Shadows," though I still want to run that one some day).

The NPCs, espically Ziki herself, are all very interesting. This is another one I'd like to run, all told- Espically for the chance to work some of the NPCs in as recurring charachters.

And I get a laugh out of Corlina- I was so used to elves being graceful, intelligent creatures, with a great deal of culture and education that I started snickering when i noticed her 8 INT...

Definately one of the strongest adventures I've seen. A powerful use of urban backdrops, and making the NPCs move the adventure.

So yeah. I'm not normally one for fanboyism, but... All Hail Uri!

Thanks you so very very much! You just made me blush :)

Regarding your question, this is my first ever published work.
Did you run the adventure? If you did, I'd love to hear how it went...

P.S
Ziki may yet return one day, angrier then ever...

P.S.S
I don't need to be hailed, just saluted, after all I am a sergeant :)

I was shocked, shocked I tell you by the mention of a beautiful naked elf in the pages of Dungeon. And she's having an affair! Also the brutal killing of a young child. We are far away from the days of the TSR Code of Conduct.

Also, awesome adventure Uri!

Ah, but first I'd need players, right?

Well, as we say in France, it's a "coup de maître" ! I did not run it yet but I plan to do so very quickly. My players are around 6th lvl and it will fit perfectly once I rewrite a few things (I'm DMing FR). I'll keep you informed, my soldier word (used to be a French Army adjudant (E-7 ??? not sure) retired since 2001- I served in Yugoslavia with UNPROFOR and Kosovo/Macedonia). I salute you then :)
