Thinking of starting a SCAP campagin in Greyhawk. So far the buzz I have read on the series is very positive-which has made me very exicited to give it a try.
How long does it take to complete a SCAP campagin from level 1 to 20? How long for each module (hrs).
The reason I ask is that our group is notorious for having 100 different games at the same time. The longer the games, the less likely my group will finish it. The DM usually gets burnt out after 10+ sessions and we try something new. We probably do get back to the adventure, but at a later date.
We do have 2 new players to the group, so I am willing to start a new. But I am curious what is the average length of play.

In my group, we've done 19 sessions, average about 6hrs gaming per session, and we are mid-point in module 4. This is a group that loves roleplaying and the details of the campaign world (one is building a theatre, another has started a clowning business) so probably about half of each session is original material designed to forward the arc of each character. I highly recommend the SCAP - it's fabulous fun.

I'm just starting "Lord of Oblivion" and I've been running this game for over a year, playing once per week at 4 hour sessions; but my group was huge and runs slower.
At your own group's size and attention span, you may make it most of the way through three adventures out of twelve(thirteen...fourteen?) before they begin to bore; I hope for all your sakes that the material keeps you coming back - it's worth it.

I have been running since January 2005 and ran Evil Unearthed as I only had three players and they really needed to be third level for Life's Bazaar. That took about three sessions. So from February to October we have played nearly every Wednesday for about 3 to 3 and half hours. Probably about 115 hours and they have just started heading to Jared's Hut in Zenith Trajectory. As there are only three of them they are level 8.
My guess is we should be starting AoW this time next year, the whole SCAP looks like it will take us about 18 months. Please note I started using the Dungeon magazines so they have played Life's Bazaar, Flood Season and thus missed Drakthar's way.
We did miss a few weeks, so we played all dayers twice to catch up hours. We are planning to do so again on Friday 25th Novemember as it's National Games Week and it's my birthday. The wife called me a geek for wanting to do this on my birthday but she isn't a gamer :)

200 hrs might be a good gues if you stick to the AP-modules alone. But I figured, that I had to incorporate some more adventures (Tammeraut's Fate for example) to get my PCs to higher levels before continuing with the AP-modules.
This might get you to about 250 to 300 hrs I would say!
My group likes playing detail-rich and we needed 4 Sessions for Life's Bazaar, with every session of about 8hrs length. Yep, this is much time and it happened to be too long, because my group split. Not because of lack of interest, but one moved and one left, so I had only two players left and quit during the Occipitus module (Can't remember the name).
Sad it is, but I will definiately play it once more, and will make sure, that every player knows what the campaign is about and how long it might last.
Tell your players about the hugeness (can I say that) of the SCAP and that it might take a year or longer to finish. If they like it, they will stay with you!

My group of 5 players, averages about 4 to 5 game sessions per Adventure (we've completed Lifes Bazaar and Flood Season to date, beginning Zenith now). Each of our sessions is once a week, on Friday nights, lasting about 6 hours a session. We are a good mix between role playing and battle fury hehe.
So I would guess we are averaging about 25-35 hours of playing per adventure at this point.
I find that the source material is so rich, from the towns, to the thieves guilds, to the churches, to the lords and nobels, to the surrounding countryside, that there is alot players can get into and get interested in with this adventure series. You could probably stream line it some, but why cut you or your players short. Enjoy every moment of this rich series for what its worth.
