Greetings D&D'ers,
I have not yet purchased the Hardcover ...Im still running the adventures from the Dungeon mags..anyway...I remember reading a post saying that....
SPOILER........................................................
When Alek Tercival Dies at the hands of Nabthataron, after the demon is defeated Alek gives a message to the PC's to seek the sign of the smoking eye. The text says that he speaks in a voice that is "not his own." I remember a thread saying that this voice was never expounded upon, but that it would be in the hardcover. My players are going to finish this adventure next week and I was wondering if anyone can tell me who/what the voice is, and where it comes from. Post here, or you can email me privatly at: paradox22@sbcglobal.net
Thanks!
D.S.

The voice was Nidrama. I believe she was attempting to get the PCs to attain the Sign of the Smoking Eye in hopes of making them beefy enough to face the Cagewrights. However, my book is not in front of me so I'm not sure on the reasons. In my game personally, having Nidrama do this was particularly fitting as it was ultimately her plan to release Adimarchus based on her ill-conceived notion that he was still seeking redemption.

Nidrama knows that Vhalantru is planning to take out the party. They have simply become too powerfull. Instead of leaving them to their fate, she goes against her superior's orders and warns the party. She does not dare to do so in person, though. This is the second step that will eventually lead to her fall from grace.

Interesting, So Nidrama sends them to Occipitus to pass the test of the smoking eye, both, to prevent them from returning and being killed and so they will recieve the sign and grow more powerful. Am I getting the gist of it guys?
Thanks for all your help.
