I've taken the plunge and submitted some querries to DRAGON (and DUNGEON) recently. I don't expect to hear back for a while. I also don't expect that all my ideas will get the green light.

That said, I was wondering if it would be kosher (not frowned on by Paizo) and useful if, once I get responses, I were to post the ones that didn't make the grade. The primary reason I thought of this would be to give the rest of you an idea of what ideas have been rejected. The secondary reason would be in hopes that some of the veteran contributors could give constructive feedback on the querries themselves.

If Paizo didn't have a problem with it, I felt it would be a great way for us to keep a running tally of areas that might not be the best to pursue. This would allow us to focus our creative energies elsewhere. Of course, it would mean I wouldn't be the only one posting my failures here... (wink wink)

Does this sound useful to anyone?

On the Dungeon boards somewhere, I started a thread called "Sample Query" that has a few rejected queries in it. There's another thread out there, too, with a rejected query that the author opted to post in order to share the idea with others.

Somewhere on the Dragon boards (probably in the archives by now), I once posted a class act query that was accepted - after the article was printed. There've been a few other queries, too.

One of the editors can confirm this, but I think the general thinking is that posting queries is OK - as long as doing so doesn't "give away" something that will be appearing in a future magazine.

Understood. I wasn't interested, per se, in just dumping all our rejections here. That would be good on occassion, but what I wanted to do was share the subject matter of the querries so that we can get a better feel for what Paizo is looking for (or not). For instance, if a query on bloodline feats for sorcerers were to get rejected, one might think the idea is good, but their presentation was off. However, if they look here and see that a dozen people submitted the same thing they did in the last two months, it might give them a clue that such an article is not going to make the grade (at least not right now).
