Dancing Sorcerer

3.5/d20/OGL

I have this idea for a character thats a dancing sorcerer. I haven't thought of a good name for it. Here's my thinking:

In the Player's Handbook, it describes the sorcerer's magic as 'intuitive rather than logical'; in the character I'm imagining, her magic comes out as a form of dance. Her ability to dance is entertwined with her abilities with magic. She dances to the rhythms of the ether, moving to its chaotic melodies to create her magic.
This forms a beautiful picture in my mind, but I haven't the foggiest on how to plan it out. Should it be some kind of feat or a prestige class? Does something like this exist already. I've only recently become interested in D&D, and so I don't a broad library of source books or confidence in my own abilities to tweak the rules. Can someone help me figure out how to do this character?

It has already been done as a prestige class. I think it was called a Spelldancer. But I cant remember what book it was in.

I think Complete Arcane (that would make sense!).

I think it was b4 the Complete series came out. Im thinking Forgotten Realms Core book, but could be wrong.

I figured there would be something like this somewhere :)

It is the spelldancer class, a five-level prestige class from Magic of Faerun. It's on page 37, if you can find the book- it came out in '01.

I recall: There's a "bladesinger" class somewhere.

Complete Warrior page 17, though I'm 50% sure it had a prevuious 3.0 incarnation somewhere. Oh well, the 3.5 one's probably better.

Alternatively, you don't really *need* a prestige class.

Just decide that, for your character, the "somatic" components of any spell include dancing.

Yeah, thats a good idea if you don't particularly like the benefits of the class.
