Just got the idea, that a monthly comic about the Dungeon-characters experiencing the new Adventure Path would be too cool!
It could be fun, somtimes a bit more serious, but nice to read.
Every month two pages.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Downer, Mt. Zogoon and all the others, really!
But I also like to see something different, from time to time.
How's that?!

Nodwick used to be like that. Maybe Order of the Stick could be added doing the same type thing. But I'm not sure that more comics are needed.

I like Dungeon where it is. More content is good. More comics would be bad. If a comic or two were dropped, I'd be fine. Increasing the page count, that would also be fine. Making sure critical threats, maps of mystery, and a text free cover were all printed every month? Well, that would probably be perfect with 3 adventures each month. Make it four and I'll remake my will with Paizo as my sole beneficiary and die happy.

I could do without any MORE comics, but I would at least keep the ones that are there. I would like to see more usable maps with each adventure printed. Maybe even a special MAPS edition during the year with maps that have been used or new ones by those creatures. Just a thought.

Maybe they could do an annual "Maps of Mystery" issue. Just throw in a bunch of generic maps. For each map they could give a description of the environment (architecture, doors, climate, lighting, etc.) but leave out any developed story, monsters, or npcs. To top it all off, they could give a nice little article with about 25-50 quick blurbs on adventure ideas.

Seriously, if you're reading this board, you can find a zillion gaming-related comics on the web. Dungeon can lose the comics and I would be much happier. Mt. Zogon gets read occasionally but I couldn't even tell you what the others are as they fall in the same catagory as off-brand advertisements. Once the comics were related to the scenarios presented. Often they were humourous enough for me to read the adventure. That was fine.
Order of the Stick is great but it cannot even maintain it's own schedule, let alone meet other users' needs.

I'm not a fan of comics at all. Some are humorous, but I'd rather see the stat blocks in one place at the end of the adventure or in a PDF--that's what I want to see in Dungeon. I'm tired of flipping pages constantly. (I'm going to keep harping this point, stomp my feet and whine until it happens--which might be a long time ;-0

More comics != good content.
IMO, the only comic in the magazine that's enjoyable is Mt. Zargon. It's funny and it's a sidebar. Just the right size without taking away from the important parts of the magazine which are information and adventures for DMs to use in their games.
If the last three pages were used for game related goodies, I'd be able to call Dungeon the perfect magazine. No, I do not believe Downer is good. It takes up too much space for the marginal value it adds.
In short, if someone wants comics, buy a comic book.

Just continuing the map conversation, what I'd really like to see are maps of towns. My players and I really love when we have a map of the town that we're currently in, but they take so much time to draw up. If I have time to plan out a dungeon, I'm fairly decent at drawing it, and I can even do it on the spot (it's not pretty, but it's fast). Towns, however, are so complex. If they'd just throw some generic town maps out for DMs to pick up, each with its own unique twist to make it memorable (or not, if that's what the adventure calls for/DM feels like), it would really help out. I know my group and I would love it.

They might consider a product like this one off to see how it went. I'll note that paying a cartigrapher is a lot more expencive then paying a writer. I'd expect such an issue to be quite pricey.

This would annoy me to no end. I do not subscribe to Dungeon to get pretty maps. I subscribe to get cool adventures. I can find pretty maps in lots of places - including the previously mentioned Map Folio from WotC, as well as any issue of Dungeon.

More comics != good content...
To be fair, comic strips (or Wil Save columns, or whatever) will likely attract more people than they will push away. We rarely hear of someone who doesn't buy because of Downer (which is a space-waster to me also, though not to many).
Though I don't want the comics and other (borderline) off-topic stuff myself, I think they make Dungeon more successful, which is better for all of us.
Two more cents,
Jack

What I was thinking was not part of our normal Dungeon magazine but a side product altogether that you could choose to buy or not on your own whim.

Not everyone needs a magazine to get "cool adeventures".
