I know that the stadium gladiator fight is a couple of adventures away, but I came across this cc2 file of a cut-out 3d stadium for miniatures combat. Haven't put it together, but I thought others might like to know about the link:

Is there any chance we could get a rough sketch of the arena (5' scale sort of thing) before the actual module comes out? I'd _love_ to do a paper replica, and matching it with the actual map would make my life much easier. It looks like the module really focuses on arena combat, and many of my PCs would be happy with the same.

I'm actually developing "Champion's Belt" right now. There is going to be a large-scale map of the arena (including the location of all the surrounding buildings) but it's so big that if we were to provide a minis-scale map of the place, it'd have to be printed on a sheet of paper the size of a lawn. I'm not sure what SIZE lawn, but it'd be big enough that it wouldn't fit in a magazine-sized magazine.

The adventure will likely recommend using a battlemat, tactiles, the grid that comes with the DMG, or some similar large open area to stage battles for the arena fights. As for the adventure itself, it's definately got several gladiator-style fights but there's also a lot more to the adventure than that. It's actually the longest one in the series yet. I'm not sure how it'll fit in to the issue. We'll probably have to use 2-point font and print in the margins.

All joking aside, I'll see what I can do about posting a sketch of the map so the DMs out there who want to build an arena can get started. And send pictures if it turns out really cool!

I'm going to use the gladiator arena battlemap from Dragon #303. It might not be as big as the Free City Arena, but I'm sure it will work out fine.

Yea, the map that came with dragon #303 is awesome. I had it laminated I liked it so much. James, do you think that map will do or is the arena in the Free City significantly larger/smaller?

On another note, I adapted Pandemonium in the Veins (Dungeon #96) to WoG several years ago to fit my current campaign and made the Veins the arena in Greyhawk. I found the map worked very well for that at least since I've never seen an actual scale drawing of the arena. I have tried extrapolating its size from City of Greyhawk maps but that's difficult to do given the scale.
