![]() Nice to hear people are excited about this. My sister is an actor who plays someone who gets killed in one of the episodes. She'll be happy to hear people are talking about it. Luckily, she's a regular on another show, so her short appearance and death on the Dresden files won't hurt her income-wise. ![]()
![]() I apologize if this was explained in the magazine, or in these forums, or in a source book, but I've looked and can't find it so.... In many stat blocks in DUNGEON there is a supercript "B" over some of the feats. Pray tell, what does this mean? Thanks for for helping this confused DM in advance. -Shade ![]()
![]() Well... Gaming prevented my imagination from drying up as I went through adolescence into adulthood. It kept me mentally versatile, and provided much needed escapism from work and school. In fact it still does. I was always amused by those who thought we were wasting our time doing this. They don't say anything to me anymore, other than shake their heads and wonder how I can switch from my very serious job (I fix brain aneurysms via an endovascular surgical approach and treat other serious brain diseases) to my other pasttime. Very simply, it's fun, and it makes me think. Also, it is really the only excuse me and fellow high-school friends have to keep in touch, even if it is only every 6-12 weeks or so. I did have to laugh though...the other night I was painting miniatures while "40 year old virgin" was on. My wife began to laugh hysterically when it showed "the virgin" painting miniatures too. I was really quite funny. ![]()
![]() My rant. I hate that I don't usually get any time to post...so I'm a lurker extrordinaire. I hate feats. I hate skills. I hate all the templates and prestige classes. I hate the supplements that keep adding to the whole awful mess. Why not have every DC based on an attribute, and be done with it. Nothing like seeing a bunch of educated adults unable to calculate out skills because of synergies etc. I realized this when I began relying on DM genie for help. I hate that WotC will ignore the fact that many people feel as I do above, and will make DnD 4.0 even MORE feat/skill/magic heavy. I hate the overabundance of magic. I love grittier semi-realistic settings where magic is a rare thing, and the PCs are some of the very few heroes around. I hate when a G.P. orders a whole body MRI to "rule out anything wrong". Back to med school for you! I hate that all my players are to busy with family, jobs, or trips to vegas to play (though I am guilty of at least 2 of those myself...hate when real life interrupts family). I hate that world-of-warcraft has made me a widower at home. Damn my wife and her 60 level raid addicted warlock. I'm lucky if the kids are fed when I get home. I hate that my job prevents me from participating in any high level stuff in WoW, as I don't have the ridiculous 6 hours a night to spare. I love these boards. I love the paizo staff. I love that I was forced to dig up all my old greyhawk stuff from the 80's to play AoW. I hate the WoC miniature marketing strategy. Like someone who posted above, I'm embarassed that I actually bought 2 boosters when they came out. Not ever doing that again. Back to Reaper and actually buying the ones I want. I hate that mortgage interest in Canada isn't tax deductible. I hate these damn migraines.... I hate some of the cartoony artwork (especially the PBM ads) in Dungeon. Can't bring the magazine to work. It's too embarassing. I love this message thread. I greatly admire PAIZO. There. All done. Whew....Feel better. ![]()
![]() My two cents: Just to confirm what F2K said. I'm Canadian, but lived and trained in the U.S. for a few years. Most Canadians I know (myself included) don't own a gun. Most of my american friends also don't own guns. This was in Massachusetts of course. What many non-americans often don't realize is how heterogeneous the individual states are in regard to laws etc. Massachusetts probabaly has more in common with eastern canada then in does with Texas, and I know that Alberta has more in common with Texas then, say, Ontario. Most people are good and reasonable on both sides of the border, having lived both south and north of the 45th parallel myself. ....and 2 of the 6 guys in my group do carry Swiss-army knives or something like them. One guy is military, the other is RCMP. ![]()
![]() M.D. Subspecialist (neuroradiology) in Canada. My group of players has a psychologist, canadian military officer, engineer, pharmacy manager, and a special forces RCMP (mountie). I started with "tunnels and trolls" actually around the age of 12, then played ADnD until the end of high school. School and training took me close to 20 years, and our old group (with some new people) has recently started up again the last year with 3.5 and the Age of Worms. Many of us have children, and all have busy jobs, so we only manage to get together once every 4-6 weeks. But we're having fun. DM Shade ![]()
![]() I know that the stadium gladiator fight is a couple of adventures away, but I came across this cc2 file of a cut-out 3d stadium for miniatures combat. Haven't put it together, but I thought others might like to know about the link: http://home.earthlink.net/~duanevp/cc2/zipfiles/stadium.zip If someone does put it together, let us know if it works! |
