I too am interested in knowing more about Ghostorb. My game group while deployed is kind of diverse, and will go its seperate ways once we are demobilized. I was hoping that Ghostorb would be a way for us to keep gaming together. But I would really love to hear from others that have already used it to host their games. There was also another online gaming engine, Fantasy adventures or something. I can't remember what it was called, but it had a great interface.

i think you are thinking of fantasygrounds.com. i have donwloaded the demo and have looked through the features.
in my opinion, if you have no other outlet for role-playing, it is your best bet. you should also consider microphone headsets (relatively inexpensive at best buy) and plan to chat through something like yahoo messenger. ghostorb will be set to handle mike chat, which seems to be its primary improvement over fantasygrounds.
of course, nothing beats good ole tabletop gaming, and i imagine that the computer interfaces are not similar enough to make gaming quite as compelling as it was when you and your friends were in the same town.

I am currently signed into Ghostorb and can tell that it seems like an interesting concept and they are slowly but surely nailing out all the bugs. Your best bet is to wait until its officially done since any comments on it now are moot because its still in beta and all the bugs are kind of expected at this point. I think they are aiming on getting it out really soon though (by August).
