I know of a place around Steeles and Dufferin...I believe it is listed in a post above...but I know it is a sci-fi/fantasy based store....they have a gaming room upstairs and said if you can get enough ppl together than we could use the room as well....Just a thought...West is Ok though.
Well Steels and Dufferin is better then nothing I guess...know where did I put my passport...
They used to hold games down at Harbourfront but I can't seem to find any refference to gaming at Harbourfront any more.
Anyway that there is a good game store at Steeles and Dufferin hardly excuses the fact that there is none in the heart of the city holding helping to hold the community together. Its simply not viable to have a store thats so far out be the heart of the community. I just looked it up and it appears that to get to Steels and Dufferin I would go to the end of one of the Northbound subway lines nad then I would get off and catch a bus that takes what 40 minutes? to get out there. Thats juts not possible - I can be in Downtown Hamilton on a GO train faster then I can get to such an out of the way part of the city.

Hrm...I live about 2 to 3 hours away from TO (depends on traffic and the day) but almost every Saturday I head out to visit my friends in TO near Scarbourough. I'm their DM and from time to time, one of them DM's something so I can participate as a player. We're a group of five guys and we have known each other since York University.
Last time I checked (which was 7-8 years ago), there was a rpg club in York University (called the YRPG club) and at least one rpg club in University of Toronto. That being said, you can also advertise in the community boards in supermarkets and comic book stores (if they let you).
While I would like to meet and game with new people, I'm old enough to be realistic about it and know that my schedule does not allow me to have that much free time.
By the way, I do believe that this year at the CNE there will be rpg-related events in late August (cannot remember the name of the convention off-hand). I heard, a rumour that is, that Ed Greenwood may, just may, be there but it is a highly unverified rumour. Nevertheless, other gamers will be there. It is a great opportunity for you to try meeting others who can game with you.

I did not finish my post-secondary education at York. I started at Humber College, went to York University, and then went to University of Toronto as they were the only university within Ontario (at the time) that had the program and courses I really wanted to do (paleontology).
Anyways, in regards to that convention in TO (in late August), I will try to be there but I am not sure I will make it. A friend of mine (who is not a gamer by any definition of the word) wants to go to Niagara Falls instead (for the casinoes and clubs). I may end up going to both (and leaving with an empty wallet).
In case anyone was wondering, I live in Mississauga and all of my gaming friends live in Toronto. Yeah, it is a shame that I live in the homely suburbs while my friends live in the dangerous city (*coughs*).

Hi guys! My friends and I are looking to get 2 players for a game in Etobicoke which, as I can tell, is about as far west in Toronto you can get. We are all young adult, 16 up yo 18, and are pretty cool guys. Currently I am playing the role of GM but I would have no problem to relinquish it to someone wanting the spot, or if we'd like to alternate. Give me a shout or something if you are still interested.
