I've got the Dragon issue with the ecology of the kenku, and though they sound realy familiar (they had these guys in second ed right?) I can't for the life of me figure out which book their stats are in? I looked in the monster manual (3.0) and no luck...MM2/3? Fiend Folio? They look realy cool, and I realy want to use them in my games, I just need their stats.
Also, I'd like to say I love the Ecology Article in general. Whoever came up with it deserves a huge pat on the back. Realy glad to see kobold's are going to be featured, though I was kinda hoping to try my hand at writing the artle my self. Oh well, there's still a few more of my favorite creatures that are open.

Kenku are in the Monster Manual III, pages 86–87. They've been around since the 1st Edition Fiend Folio. Which is, of course, the source of my avatar image.
<-----Kenku!
I have to be honest here... I liked the LOOK of kenku better in 1st edition. Still glad they brought them back though.

121? Weird, I think I have that issue...Gonna have to check that out. I finaly got a chance to glance at a MM3, so I now know their stats, though an adventure featuring kenku will be something I'm very interested in. Thanks for the heads up.
From what little I remember about them in second (though chances are I'm thinking of something completely different) they weilded katanas or staves, and I keep thinking they were oriental in nature (this might be because of only ever seeing them in an oriental flavored adventure). Either way, the third ed stats are pretty spiffy, and considering no one else in my group knows squat about them I think they'll make for a realy cool encounter.
'nother quick question while I'm remembering. I keep hearing reference to explosion dogs. I get the concept, though were these ever actualy stated out? Something I read the other day made me think they might have been something Erik Mona just made reference to in an editorial.

Indeed, explosion dogs first made their appearance in Castle Bristol, which Erik discusses in his editorial in Dungeon 120. They also make an appearance in the Mt. Zogon in issue 121.

You might be thinking of the Tengu some of whom had bird heads while the more magical members of the species had human heads with long noses.
Well what do you know, I'm part Tengu

Hey dude -
DUngeon #121 has an advenuture called The Forsaken Arch, that has a bunch of Kenkus in it. There are some at teh sneak level, and at least one who has Bard levels. I can't remember esactly, but the stats are all reprinted there.
Hope that's helpful.
Wark!
My favourite adventure in that issue. Had a very nice feel to it IMO.
