Updates on the GameMastery line?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Any word on when we will hear more about this line? I am very excited for "Dark Elf Sanctuary", and I would like to hear about what other things are in store.
I apologise if this isn't the right forum for this (I just went with Dungeon is primarily for DMs, the GameMastery line is tools for DMs, therefore. . .).

Anything? Maybe just a "we'll have more info next week"?

Ah, the Game Mastery line. The apple of my eye.

We've got some really awesome surprises in store for the Game Mastery line. We've been spending the last few weeks finishing up the planning for these exciting products, and are just about ready to get started on actual production.

In the case of the miniatures, that means that we've got all of our ideas lined up, and are in talks with the creative folks that will make them possible.

I can reveal that four sets of miniatures have been greenlit for 2005. We hope to release the first set at Gen Con, and then another roughly every month until the end of the year.

We're shooting for intriguing concepts that have not been covered by other companies, but that will be very popular with Dungeons & Dragons players.

Our miniatures will focus on figures other than the rank-and-file your PCs are likely to slaughter in the tens and hundreds. When you can get a dozen pre-painted orcs from WotC and eBay for less than ten bucks, we know we have to go the extra mile to present something that will stand out from the crowd, and we're pretty confident we've done that.

Look for top-name talent to be involved in the conceptual art, cartography, mini-adventure design, and sculpting for this product line. Although the Game Mastery line offerings are not official Dungeons & Dragons products, they will be created with exactly the same attention to detail and production value that we put into the magazines.

Everyone at Paizo is really pulling together to make these products a success, and the process has been enormously gratifying thus far.

I'm aching to announce a product schedule, but I want to hold off until we can also announce the creatives involved.

I think you'll be very, very pleased.

More soon.

Are any of these concepts gargantuan or larger? Big affordable minis - that's what I'd love to see.

Just last week my party fought, um. . . my fiancees beanie baby. Another time we fought a plastic cup . . . boy, did IT rue the day it messed with us. . .

Thanks for the update Erik! This sounds like it's going to be unbelievably cool. After seeing what you guys have been able to do with Dungeon and Dragon, I have the highest confidence this stuff will be of incredible quality and utility. Anxious to hear more (or just to get the stuff, but I'll settle for info for the time being).

Where was the DungeonMastery line first mentioned? I haven't heard anything about it yet...

So, since it has been a week now, I'm sure everything is lined up and you can give us a full-color-glossy-eight-page-pamphlet-with-diagrams-cross-
sections-teasers-concept-art-a-stick-of-gum-and-the-full-release-
schedule-for-the-next-three-years type of announcement. Right?
I am just chomping at the bit for this stuff. I'm not sure why, but I just have a good feeling about this stuff.
Well, if you can share any more info I'd appreciate it, and if not I will continue my vigil in front of my Paizo DM screen.

ROTFL.

Not yet. If the product line is successful and profitable, we'll see what we can do about providing larger miniatures.
