Prestige Class Design Contest?

3.5/d20/OGL

I got a catalogue for Origins the other day, and there was something in there about a contest, sponsored by Dragon, for the best design of a new prestige class. Does anybody know how one goes about entering this? It said to check the Dragon site for details, but I can't find any such thing there...

More information will be forthcoming. I believe there's something about it in issue #331's First Watch section. :)

Finally! I can now unleash my Assistant Editor Prestige Class upon the world!

Ah, thanks. I guess I have another reason to pester my friendly local bookstore manager (and former boss), aside from complaining about the horrible organizration of the RPG section every time I'm in the mall.

There will also be a Side Trek contest in the same vein (submit your best entry, get a stab at winning a trip to Origins). It was in this month's, um, Dungeon I think.

I haven't quite worked out the foundation for it, yet, but I know you'll have situation bonuses to Saves vs. Spelling Errors. :-)

In the ad, it says that the submission must be provided electronically, but then lists a mailing address. Are both formats acceptable?

If I'm reading correctly, the deadline is April 25 (midnight eastern time?), and to be sent to programs(at)gama.org. Are there any attachment size limits or other restraints beyond what's listed in the writer's guidelines?

Thanks!

Amber -

Do you know where in the magazine (and in which issue) this announcement was.... I didn't see it when I read the magazine, and I've just found this thread.

I'm pretty sure that both are acceptable. If you send something by snail mail, I strongly suggest including a digital version of your submission. I'm not handling the contest submissions, but better safe than sorry, right?

Not that I'm aware of.

The prestige class contest was announced on page 18 of Dragon #330 (mind flayer cover). The Side Trek contest was announced on page 16 of Dungeon #122 (lizardfolk cover). :)

Thanks Amber! I'll check them out.

My prestige class is cool. Something about the elements, though. That's all I'll say for now. And braids. Braids are in the class, too.
Exactly where do I submit my prestige class?

As I posted earlier, complete contest rules can be found on page 18 of Dragon #330 (mind flayer cover) and page 16 of Dungeon #122 (lizardfolk cover). DON'T send entries to Paizo!

I haven't had the chance to playtest my new prestige class, the Wavemaster, because none of my players want to have any die roll that is below a D10, and they kill my NPCs before the end of the first round. All of my players are munchkins. Will anyone playtest it for me and tell me how it goes? I need to know before I enter it.

I can playtest it when I find a group. Do you think you could post the stats here? Or email me at grayncole@aol.com It's my brother's email, but it will still work.

So have they determined the winner for the new prestige class yet? I have just now heard about this. Wish I could have seen this earlier :( ! Oh well, that's what happens when you get deployed to Iraq. I would have put one in, but now I guess it doesn't matter. Where do I go to learn of all the upcoming contests?
