Question about quotes

Hiya. :)

I've noticed that when I quote a long post from somebody, invariably I get the first few lines, followed by an elipse (a "..."), and then rest of the post is cut off.

The only thing I've found that can be used as a workaround for this is to open up a second browser so I can copy/paste from one window to another.

A) Is there something I'm doing wrong?
B) Assuming not, is there any way of turning this off?

Thanks!

I don't know how to turn it off, but I just do a copy from the message I want to quote before I hit Reply and then just paste it in over the portion of the quote that does appear (be sure to not copy over the brackets and stuff that encapsulate the quote). It's probbaly not the correct answer, but it's a decent work around without having to open a second browser.

Hmm... yeah.

For now, the copy and paste workaround is the way to go.

We used to show the message creation box in context at the bottom of the thread which eliminated the need to open a second window, but when we launched the pagination feature we lost that.

Gary and I will take a look at making this easier. One option is to not limit how long the quote can be and let you remove what you don't care about. Another option is to restore thread context so it's easier to copy and paste additional quoted content.

I personally prefer "option A" but really either one resolves the issue. Thanks for the reply. :)
