Online Map Question

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Firstly: the combination of great adventures and downloadable maps and NPC pics is awesome - great time savers and they help to (literally) add color to the game.

Now the request: any chance of having two sets of the maps and pics? Versions with no text allow them to be used as player maps with no extra work - and depending on how the maps are built, maybe just removing the text layer would do the trick.

Examples are the map of Istivin. We're running in FR, so the city name is going to channge, but additionally, the numbers that are right on the map mean it can't be used as a player map unless the numbers are all removed - bit of a giveaway when "the super secret entrance to the dungeon of incredible badness" happens to be #12 on a map...a bit of a giveaway for the players.
Maybe this would add too much work (or maybe it's been asked before) but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks, and keep the great adventures coming.

This question has been asked so many times and i would love to have it avalable.

However they have told us that the maps are done by hand then they use Photo shop (or something like that) to edit the maps. So they can't take out traps and secret doors... however they MAY (not sure one this) be able to take numbers off. the reason i say this is that the Online maps for AP1 don't have numers on them but there are numbers in the book for each room...

Being a Photoshop Professional...I can say with complete certainty that they can take out all markers. Whenever I'm doing a map all the location markings etc are all on one layer.

Its a simple matter of turning that layer "off", and voila no map markings.

Now that being said...the cartographers have to keep the file in photoshop format to preserve the layers. Once they save it as a JPG, TIFF, etc. it is all flattened into one layer.

Just my pennies worth,

You'll note that with Supplements #122 and #123, they have provided maps with and without labels and keys.

As of issue 122, we will be including both map versions in every new supplement. :)
