Wow! I assume that is Graz'zt and Iggwilv on the cover. I guess I never imagined Iggwilv as that, well, hot. Maybe it's her name, but Iggwilv sound more crone-like. Well, I guess if she had a demon-prince's attention, she must have been fairly attractive.
Regardless, great cover, I can't wait to get this one!

I sense a demon theme....
I'd really love more of the cover art to relate to the low level adventures, at least once in a while... Maybe I'm just projecting from the last two issues, I'll have to flip through my last years worth of magazines to check.

You're right Amaril! Now I feel a bit silly. I guess this shows I have some preconceived notions about adventures with fiendish content.
Okay, cool for including cover art on the low level adventures! It was beginning to bug me that I hadn't seen one for a while, but clearly it was being remedied without me needing to say anything.

You know, I always forget the appearance-shifting abilities of magic-users. Makes sense though.
I didn't know Iggwilv was the mother of Iuz. Good to know. I am a recent convert to Greyhawk (no little thanks to Erik and the efforts made in Dungeon lately). I love all the history of Greyhawk I am picking up in these adventures.
As far as controversy over the cover itself, I hope not. This is the type of cover I love to see. It gives us a glimpse into the events precluding an adventure. Good work WAR and Dungeon staff.

You know, I whined a little bit last month because the awesome cover art featured Demogorgon, and the awesome adventure did not. This month, we see an awesome rendition of Graz'zt and Iggwilv on the cover, and a 4th level adventure about a cloak.
But I have seen the light and changed my tune. I'll take incredible cover art featuring fearsome demons over the alternative - presumably a few low level adventurers and a cape - any day of the week. Err ... month of the year, I mean.
Demons rock.

She can appear young, old or anywhere in between.
Definitely, Yamo. I mentioned this at the WotC's GH Board - in Gary Gygax's Artifact of Evil, Iggwilv and Zuggtmoy change their appearance when they arrive at Iuz's palace. The Old One was so appalled at their natural forms, that they changed into a look that was more seductive, as suggested by Dungeon 121's cover.

Nice cover. Much like the last two. I certainly like the way the Dungeon cover art is going lately.
Strictly my opinion here, but I have to say that overall, Paizo has had a much more reliable collection of impressive art in its monthly mags than WotC has had overall in its much more costly supplements. How do you do it? More importantly, keep it up!

Now this, I definitely agree with. I love the fantasy artwork that I've always associated with Dungeons & Dragons. Although I still play the game, I've been really disappointed with the interior art of the WotC supplements. There are a few areas of interior art improvement I'd like for Dungeon (and Dragon), though by and large, the art from these magazines is all I have to fill my head with vivid imaginings.

The cover art really is impressive on this one. I can't wait to see what Dungeon has done with the artwork for the rest of the module. A little teaser... look for the Fingers of Iuz in Cold Stones Keep. If the cover art is any indication of what to expect, this group should have some pretty cool artwork dedicated to them. But who knows?

It is indeed Graz'zt and Iggwilv on the cover. And Iggwilv's got some high level spells at her disposal; she can pretty much look however she wants. ;-)
Talk about a Critical Threat, Iggwilv probably has a higher CR than Graz'zt. Any change of the Arch-Mage appearing with stats in all her glory?
| zorbo |
That WOULD be a nifty critical threat, wouldn't it? Not sure how we'd fit an epic NPC stat block on two pages of text though.
Good point James. How does the publication work with respect to personages from Greyhawk? Can Dungeon Magazine publish stats for characters owned by WoTC? Thanks for your input, btw, I think your magazine has really taken off, congrats!

We can use personages from Greyhawk as critical threats (or personages from Forgotten Realms, or Eberron, or Maztica, or any other WotC setting). Already done: Evard, Warduke, the Lord of Blades, Lassiverin, and some other thugs.
So Iggwilv is certainly a contender for a critical threat. And there's certainly something Iggwilv-related happening in the magazine later this year. And that's certainly all I'll say about it, for now...

Thanks again James! Sounds cool! I look for the issue! And a shout-out to Zherog, I feel & relish your pain! lol

We've already done Rary, not as a critical threat, but as part of an article in Polyhedron #162 (which lives inside the pages of Dungeon #103). In fact, that was one of the first things Overlord Mona made me do.
Erik: "You're the new guy, huh? Here. Edit this epic-level wizard's stat bock."
As for Emirikol the Chaotic and Kyuss... we're aware of their work. I have no further comment at this time on these individuals.

Great news! Who says Greyhawk doesn't get support? The Paizo staff is doing a fantastic job. So many things to look forward to.

Yeah, at the risk of being sycophantic about it, I think that the art direction has been absolutely wonderful and it continues to improve! Although, I have to say the Githyanki love-fest from Dungeon #100 and the sister issue of Dragon may be just about my favorite of all time!
I have really been pretty blamed happy with the whole magazine for the last several issues! I think Paizo is doing an exceedingly good job.
