Castlevania / Ravenloft as a dungeon crawl for halloween

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Just think, gothic horror at it's finset.
Ok maybe not Dracula at the reigns but perhaps Strahd? Come on who Hasn't played Castlevania, I was just thinking every monster is easy enough to find in the Monster manual and Fiend Folio, etc. Instead of a solo hero, it's the descendants of like the Belmonts, hence no lawsuit. Gathered together by an ancient curse that draws them here, through the mists and into Barovia. What do you say? Dos this idea hold any intrest?

I've run this campaign style every halloween for my group and it's big hit, sure a greatsword is better than a whip but if it's a +4 whip that does double to triple damage on undead, give me the whip over the sword any day.

Seriously I want to know what everyone thinks.

I have always been a big Castlevania fan, Symphony of the Night is my favorite! I started working on a big map somewhat inspired from the game series. I had planned on releasing it for map a week a few years ago but decided to wait until it was more fleshed out. What do you think Erik?
