I WILL use it once I get a game going. The place is concenced awsome.
But as for weather conditions? I'm pretty sure, seeing as how its the Plane of Shadow, that it is consistently dark, probably with randomly varying levels of darkness.
It'd be cool to hear what everyone's doing with it. I think it is a great idea, and i'd like to see the planar cities appear again soon.

Phil, can you email me by any chance? ephealy(at)ephealy(dot)com
I've been trying to track you down about that article for a little while. I'd love to pick your brain if you don't mind...
It depends EP. I haven't really thought much about Balefire for a while now. It was not something that was a part of my own homebrew campaigns, so I didn't write much more about the city than what you see in the article. A bit of it got changed by the DRAGON staff, but nothing was left out. It actually arose from a DUNGEON adventure I did called "The Sinkhole" which appeared in issue 103 (but subscriber copies only). In that adventure there is a city of shadow called Ossumbra that the PCs get a glimpse of when they enter the Plane of Shadow.

I guess that answers most of my questions:
- You didn't do anything else with Balefire than what was in the article?- Ossumbra is / may be the same as Balefire?
