Alternate Message board suggestion (Less bandwidth)

Website Feedback

Greetings,
I really enjoy reading the message boards here for the content. Though I have found a differently coded message board easier to read than the one currently employed. The link at the bottom is an example of that format. The reasons I enjoy the other format: it encourages discussion by allowing you to read and post quickly on topics and takes less bandwidth from the server because you don't always have to load a new page to read a thread. Scratch the avatars and you save even more on storage and bandwidth (I understand that may not be a hugely popular idea, but really what function do the avatars provide?). I understand you may not be too interested in getting a new message board system until a periodic upgrade especially since WOTC techs can assist in any problems you might run into, but hope you will file this format away for consideration. Thank you. Ryan

Most of our recent development work has been on outfitting our newly remodeled store, so you're correct that we probably won't get around to a major upgrade to the messageboards for awhile. However, we are always looking for ways to improve them. Thanks for your feedback!

PS: We actually don't get any help from WOTC techs.... the Paizo site is entirely home-grown.

The new store looks good. I was just perusing it after getting your email advertising.

Well, thanks! We like it, too. 8 )

As Gary mentioned, the messageboards, and indeed the whole site, are completely home-grown. We didn't buy any of the functionality.

Future improvements will come from future development and feedback from folks like you who frequent the site. So keep the feedback coming!

best regards,
- rob

COULD BANDWIDTH BE THE REASON I CAN READ THIS MESSAGEBOARD AT WORK(WITH A KILLER CONNECTION) BUT I CAN'T GET THE SITE TO LOAD AT HOME (WITH MY DIAL UP)?

I often take some free time at work to check the message boards, and it certainly is faster at work, but I don't have problems from home using the dialup connection... except when I try to read the Failed Wil Save thread. But even that will load if I'm a little patient.

AHHHHH, THAT MEANS I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AT HOME THEN. SWEET. THANKS KOLDOON.
