Amazing Stories TV Series

Anyone ever see the Amazing Stories TV series, created and produced by Steven Spielberg? Season one is coming out on DVD November 2. I've never seen it—how is it?

That's great news about Amazing Stories coming to DVD. The series for me ranged from excellent to fair. There were several fine episodes that I still remember. The Halloween episode Mummy Daddy, in which an actor playing a mummy must get to the hospital where his wife is having a baby, is hilarious. The Christmas episode Santa Claus 1985 has Santa mistaken for a burglar and thrown in the slammer was clever and memorable. The Thirteen Inch Sun is about a struggling sitcom writer whose ivy plant, bathed in the constant glow of his black and white television broadcasting old comedies, gains the ability to type winning scripts. There are some great episodes, and some not so great, though younger children should love them. The good episodes are funny, touching and warm. Think Twilight Zone Light.

We've just learned that the DVD set has been postponed until early next year.

But it is still coming out, right?

If so, that's good enough for me. Of course, by the time I get all my old favorite Movies and TV shows on DVD...a new video format will come out and I'll have to start all over. :p

Ok it is now into 2006, and I'm wondering if the TV Series Amazing Stories is out on DVD yet? Anyone have any information on this? I'd greatly appreciate hearing anything about this as I'm a big fan of the former series. Thanks.

In about March of 2005, I heard it was postponed to November 2005. It didn't come out then, and I have no idea where it stands now.
