Is there a third part planned of this excellent Map of Mystery entry? Or even more? If yes, do you already know which issue it will be in?

Regards,
Stefan.

Hey, you're right. It does look like there should be a thrid part. Let's hope we see it soon. Christopher West's cartography is incomparable.

Keep the maps of mystery coming.

ASEO out

Liberty's Edge

The third and final installment of the Dungeon's Delve series will appear in the magazine's final issue: #150.

I've been meaning to finish that series for years, of course, but the time never felt quite right. When I heard the magazine would be coming to an end, though, I knew it was time to plan the conclusion.

You'll find that the same map also completes the more recent series of linked maps, which began with the "Woodland Shrine" and left off at the "Drow Outpost". In #150, the two dungeons shall become one.

Liberty's Edge

Very cool Mr West! And I hear you've got a Maps of Mystery World map or some such too?

Liberty's Edge

Yep, that's right. I created a new world to bring all of the previous Maps of Mystery together. They can still be used separately, of course, but if a DM wants to flesh out a new world for the locations to live in, he or she will find one included as a bonus poster map in the final issue. Every Map of Mystery I've ever done for Dungeon has a location specified on the "Lands of Mystery" map. It also includes nearly three hundred new cities, towns, ruins, strongholds, mountains, rivers, lakes, dungeons, and so on.

I plan to make a gazetteer of this world available after the issue comes out, but other than a few descriptive notes on each location, it'll be up to each individual DM to breathe life into it.

I hope you like it!

Liberty's Edge

Chris, that is SO cool. Thankyou. Really looking forward to getting it (well, apart from the fact it's in the last issue, which means .... it's the LAST issue .... but anyway).

Where do you plan to publish / post the gazetter?

Liberty's Edge

I was going to post it here, but it's about 6000 words now, and I'm only to the "J"s.

So, I'll probably do it up as a PDF file and then either ask Paizo to post it as a web enhancement, or put it on my website. (Or both.)

What I'm most looking forward to in issue 150 aside from the finale of the STAP is your final maps for DUNGEON Chris. To actually have a world to put all the maps in is priceless. Also, thanks for all those recent maps of the Rift, such as the one for Karadad.

Liberty's Edge

The pleasure has been mine! I'm just sorry that I never got the chance to map out the rest of the Forsaken Rift's key locations or write an adventure or backdrop set there. I'd have enjoyed exploring that place more extensively.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the maps!

Go and ask Eric, there might be a plave on Varisia for the Forsaken Rift. Your adventure might not be lost yet... ;)

Not sure how this works, but I'm guessing the maps of mystery will go to wizards after issue 150, allong with all the other non-fiction, non comic content.

Liberty's Edge

That's correct. WotC owns the copyright.

That said, if Paizo ever wanted me to do something like this for a chunk of their new world, I wouldn't say no. :)

I'm glad to hear that this Delve won't be abandoned, Christopher! I've long been a fan of it :D The older 2 DD maps appeared in issues 109 and 111; which are the others that you're linking together with the map in 150?

Thanks!

Allan.

Liberty's Edge

The other series is #142, 143, 144, 145, and 146. :)

Many thanks!

Allan.
