I was wanting some advice on this topic. In our pathfinder group we are currently 5th level and I'm currently a 5th level rogue. I was wondering whether or not I should take levels in assassin because I have been reading about the ninja and to me it poses as clearly the better "killer" class compared to a rogue/assassin (I hate they took out the assassin spell list ugh!)

To be honest, I don't know if my gm will let me convert my rogue to an actual ninja but just incase he does allow it can someone tell me which class would probably be better for me and my party? Rogue/assassin or ninja?

Hi guys just a quick query. Now I'm basing my campaign off of Andoran and I am still trying to exactly comprehend exactly how Andoran's government truly works. For those who don't know I will explain.

The republic of Andoran is both driven and solidified by one underlying force: the fear of a return to tyranny. Within the republic, the more influential one becomes, the greater the public scrutiny, as there is an inherent distrust among Andorens for those with too much power and authority. As such the higher one climbs in the democratic government or the more wealth one accumulates, the greater the social pressure to be charitable and promote good works.

Now when Cheliax was overthrown by the rebellion, Andoran chose to redistribute land allowing the nobles of the once mighty Cheliax to keep some of their property but returning the rest to the people. These lands were then divided into municipalities with each represented in the government by a duly elected councilor who sits on the peoples council.

The people's council consists of 350 seats or 350 people as it were. Once the council has been elected by each municipality, the council elects a mayor for each municipality to help prevent corruption by the politicians from bribing, threatening, or otherwise manipulating the local populace into electing them as mayor and the council bases its decisions solely on a mayor's credentials and merits.

In addition to each municipality, each major guild such as the merchant guild and the trade guilds have a representative on the people's council with almost every trade having a voice on the council.

The peoples council also has ministers, consuls, and a supreme elect of whom which are also included in the council. The supreme elect is the one who heads the peoples council and pretty much rules all of Andoran.

Now with all this info I have a couple of questions on stuff which I am confused about:

1)I don't fully understand the election of the councilors and mayors and how much power each has or what they devote their responsibilities too. Is the councilor head of the munincipality or is it the mayor? Can neither be a head and can there be like a supreme leader of both? Are both given some kind of incentive by the people's council when elected to keep them from becoming corrupt or do they have their full focus on their organization or munincipality?

2)What exactly counts as a munincipality? I know there are city, states, and even guilds as was mentioned in the companion book but the book mentions 350 councilmen whom are elected for each munincipality and there are sure a hell of alot less than 350 citys or states within Andoran, atleast thats what the book tells me. So is the rest like just a bunch of other unnamed organizations that the gm makes up or what?

3)What exactly are the responsibilities of a cabinet, minister, or a supreme elect? Is the supreme elect kind of like a king or a president? And is his rule controlled by the council or does he choose the decisions for the country without question?

If anyone has any information on this please let me know. I'm truly fascinated by what I've read in the companion book about this country and am eager to get a proper understanding of how this country runs on a daily basis. Thanks so much! :)

So I'm curious as to everyone's idea on this topic. Say for example you were part of an evil organization that wants to rule a good-aligned nation such as Andoran for example. What clever plan could you come up with that would be sufficient to get your organization to the top? What tools would you use and how would you use them?

Hi guys. So I'm making a fun campaign for my players and I'm a first time gm. Now I have run modules myself in the past but for my story I'm looking to add alot of flavor into my campaign to make it fun and not just another adventure/campaign that my players go through.

In past games I played, I played with dm's who somehow at the beginning start off in a way that just draws players attention and keeps them wanting more and more of their story. I ask them myself "what's your secret"? They always tell me that just touching a players sense of wonder and curiousity is the best way to go.

While I whole-heartedly agree with that statement I don't think thats the only way to go so I'd like to ask expert gm's out there who have been gaming for years: What do you think makes a great and memorable adventure or campaign?

Hi guys I myself have been working on a pathfinder campaign that is supposed to transform the world of golarion in unseemingly impossible ways. In my campaign, it is going to be entirely based off to where Cheliax and Andoran go to war with eachother with each side having a number of different factions, provinces, heroes and villians etc. helping eachother out. Now I hope no one minds but it is going to be an extremely long post of stuff I'm typing so please bear with me.

Now at the beginning of my campaign it starts off to where Queen Abrogail II has been assassinated by her sons lackeys, a large half-fiend named Draego Thrune whom few believe to be a son of a devil and he ends up taking the throne. Having a growing dislike for Andoran's constant mockery of his country he feels it is time to start drafting and training a powerful army that will wipe this stain of liberty off the face of golarion.

To begin, he wants to play it smart. He wants to make sure that Andoran is at its weakest when he goes to invade. He begins hiring a contingent of Norgorber assassins led by a man named Rhaegus Karesah, a fetchling and by far one of the most deadly assassins in all the inner sea. His goal is to use his guild of assassins (whom are worshippers of Norgorber) to advance himself as Andoran's new ruler...and then tear the country apart!

Codwin I second term is almost up at this point. Rhaegus intends to have this age-old paladin assassinated so as to assure that he does not get granted a third term and he would be a threat if left to linger. Once he is gone, the peoples council will convene over the coming weeks to decide Andoran's new executive over the state. Rhaegus, as mentioned earlier will be one of the electives for the position as well as Bridwin Tell of Bellis and Radas Menadian of Augustana whom Rhaegus will have conveniently...disappear.

Using his assassins, he will send them to pay a visit to each 350 members of the peoples council to blackmail, intimidate, or bribe them. Those who agree soon discover they have gained a powerful ally which is a guild of assassins to use at their discretion. Those who disagree soon regret that decision and discover that they are in deep s!&*. For those who own businesses, they soon discover a loss of workers and a large decrease in their economy. If that is not enough, then their families will be kidnapped. If that is still not enough, they and their families will be marked for assassination and be replaced by a polymorph ritual(to explain, Norgorber illusionists have discovered a way to greatly enhance the duration of a polymorph through a carefully planned ritual that makes it last indefinitely) to pose as that same person for a time until after the election. Rhaegus will be posing as a man named Johnathan Kent a member of the peoples council and close friend to Codwin I whom the real version will also disappear for a time.

Try as they might to warn Codwin or the eagle knights or anyone for that matter, they are very carefully watched and messengers they send are killed and disposed of. Feeling helpless, they all will have to submit eventually turning the peoples council into a large hostage regime.

Other factions assist them in this matter such as the lumber consortium, whom grow tired of the constant attacks from the public people of Andoran and aim to see the rule of Cheliax return. They have provided an alchemical concoction which I chose to call Vial of dissolving (I plan to come up with something more creative) that effectively rusts or melts away wood and metal. Using this, Rhaegus helps assist in the weakening of Andorans ships, armor and weapons, tools for different companies, etc. to destroy Andorans economy outright.

Now Rhaegus does not want to draw the attention of the eagle knights or the government so to pose as a distraction he intends to hire tribes of several various humanoids: Gnolls, bandits, goblins, hobgoblins and bugbears who band together for the promise of gold and other various rewards to war against Andoran from within ambushing caravans, travellers, and even adventurers and taking them as slaves to be shipped off to Cheliax or to help at their main camp which will be a Wooden fort hidden deep in the Norgortha peaks. Having an iron mine below, the slaves will be carefully watched. The bandit tribes constant attacks grow so threatening that they fully draw the governments attention away from Rhaegus. These tribes unite under a man named Victor Taiberius whom is a cleric to Norgorber. As 2nd in command is a Hellknight of the Rack named Arcturus ranked Paravicar in his division of hellknights. He watches over his lower-ranked hellknights and helps keep order.

With all this happening, Rhaegus will claim in the election speech that Taldor is responsible for all of this happening and even present false proof to the people. He promises as well to help remove the bandits off the face of Andoran and bring in a vast shipment of lumber, iron and gold to help with the predicted war with Taldor. With plans to send Andorans forces east instead of west where the true threat lies, Cheliax can move in with ease and take over their lands once again.

Should things go wrong and Rhaegus fails, Cheliax will want to have his head and he knows it. He will flee to the darklands where those responsible for his failure are expected to pursure him outright...and he will be ready for them!

Now, this is only part 1 of my campaign which I expect might end up going from 1st to 10th level maybe more. I want you guys to tell me what you think and offer any helpful advice. This is my first campaign but I take "constructive" criticism very well and seriously. I'm of course posting this mainly to get advice from those whom have been playing this game for years! I'm also in the process of designing Rhageus's gear whom I will probably end up making a rogue 5/assassin 8 so if anyone knows of useful assassins gear that he could gain post that as well. If anyone knows of more factions in-game at this time or if anyone has any cool ideas for side quests, other cool factions to put in, or even a cool name for my vial of dissolving lol please post me.

Thanks again for reading! I really enjoy writing this stuff and I know it was really long but hey...I'm pretty sure it was interesting right? ;)

This crossed my mind while I was shopping at Barnes n Noble for a good fantasy book that there were no books based on the Pathfinder Universe (and I don't mean like the Player handbook. I mean a good novel with a plot, Characters, and Suspense). Is Paizo allowing this and if there are any authors writing a book; any advice for a newbie? :)

Does anyone know of a web page that gives info on Drow Society such as who owns what city, who the 12 great houses are and info on their hierarchy, that sort of thing?

Hi everyone!

Im relatively new to Pathfinder and I plan on writing a book about a drow assassin(Surface-born or living in Zirnakaynin/Dark lands I havent decided yet) and I was wondering about the campaign books. Sadly, I lack a great deal on the fantastical world of Golarion and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on which book I should buy. Im leaning towards Inner sea myself but I would like to hear everyones opinion before I decide.

Thank you!
