Hello all,
Signups for both players and GM's for the APCon 2015 event are now open!
When is APCon? It will take place during between June 26 - June 28.
Where is APCon? It is fully online, using various virtual tabletop programs and voice/video chat.
Where do I sign up? Signups will be handled through the APCon 2015 Warhorn
Can I submit a game to GM? Of course! Information about how to submit a game request to us can be found at the following web form . As is usual for online events, we will be offering multiple VTT programs and multiple language (English/French/German) games based on availability of Gamemasters. Time slots for game submission are open 24 hours a day!
How can I participate? Sign up! During the event, we will have a chat going where HQ Staff can help connect players to games that have open spots. The chat will also be used to coordinate tables during the multitable specials. Last year during the Conline and Aethercon events, the players had a lot of fun working together and encouraging each other!
What kind of events can I expect at Conline? While we are hosting Open GM submissions, the staff is running a number of tables from end of season 6, and the latest specials from Paizocon! There will also be Non-PFS play from both Pathfinder and Other systems
Featuring:
Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–20: Returned to the Sky
Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–21: Tapestry's Toil

Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–22: Out of Anarchy

Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–23: The Darkest Abduction

First time trying to play online? Check out our online play guide at the PFS Online VO Blog
We encourage any new players to try out an online PFS game before the convention; you can find signups for such games at the Grand Lodge Online Play
Participants will have a chance to earn spots in raffles for PFS Player Boons, and Prizes from Paizo.

APCon 2015 is being hosted by APGamingREAL , a Gaming/Roleplaying media livestream/actual play for the Pathfinder system, Pathfinder Society, and other Tabletop RPG’s. You can find our past campaigns at Youtube
or catch us live evenings at Twitch.tv

The mystic brourge.

Bloodrager Primalist and dual cursed oracle with lame and legalistic curse ( or your choice ). Go into Rage Prophet. Now you can use arcane and divine spells, wands, scrolls. He is a scholar cursed by an ancient spirit of extreme bro rage that overtakes him in times of stress. Eventually he can call upon this spirit to directly aid him.

He is as useful off the field as he is on the field, where he can frontline damage brawl.

Bro.

Can this build be improved by taking 1 level of Rogue(Thug) archetype?

Ive learned that its a great challenge to build a character capable of bringing back foes alive and mostly unharmed via controls or nonlethal damage.

And it makes for a somewhat less sociopathic mindset.

Thanks for all your work, both as an online venture-officer, and running games, Arthur.

For what it's worth, I'd encourage everybody to try at least one play-by-post game. The long time opportunities there give players (and GMs) a chance to shine, in both tactics and role-play, which then bleed back over into regular play.

Are there any advantages to on-line, real-time play, that you think would benefit players and GMs who haven't yet dipped our toe into that?

What are some "pro tips" that you could pass along to prospective GMs? Things that you didn't realize, 50 or 60 tables ago?

The advantages to online play with VTT are many. You can do it anywhere, you can usually get a game at almost any time, and the malleability of the internet allows for quick table changes. Instead of flipping out mats and setting up encounters, you can have it all prepackaged. Some of the VTT clients will even include sound and music effects. With a nice webcam it can be close to playing in person, but without the smells of a typical game store. Which I'm told reek of Magic The Gathering.

Online play is also a great learning experience for those who normally play face to face. Since we have players from every region, and many of the playerbase also check this forum, trends for the new character builds tend to spread quickly, and as a result rules knowledge is highly valued. If you are struggling to keep your character effective, participating in a few online games may, possibly, show you a few routes to take with your character to increase both your enjoyment and what you bring to the table.

Finally, we play the stuff most people don't. Sounds like there are a few eyes of the ten runs getting started soon, and mid level modules like The Harrowing or Ruby Phoenix. I personally gathered a group for Academy of Secrets and Tomb of the Iron Medusa, and we are just waiting for someone to run Jade Regent 6 so I can start another group on The Moonscar. I fully intend to run Witchwar Legacy as well, then use my GM credits to go back to run it all again. And I'm not the only one planning to do high level module runs.

The greatest pro tip is to not play against the players. Be the characters assigned to you as a GM, as best you can, and try to scare them with the possibility of death as much as possible without implementing it. The fear of losing their character will keep them on edge and focused more than actually dying ever will.
Always read the feats section, as many of them drastically alter the way an encounter works.
Learn the basic spells. Evocation may seem powerful, but past level 5 there are some very nice choices in other schools with disabling to keep the party split or distracted.
And don't be afraid to roleplay. The GM sets the standard, and if you can find that place deep in yourself to get a little silly and speak with an (regionally appropriate) accent, your players will feel much more comfortable introducing their character and their precious backstory on which they have worked so hard to make, but don't want to feel like the only RP nerd at the table using. Backstory and characters are really most of the reason to play pathfinder after all, as our chronicles literally write our history.

The last bit of advice is to ignore everything I've said so far, because I often have no idea why people enjoy my games. I've found people like it when you run alot of games for them, and that is best advice I can offer.

Well, this turned out a bit longer than intended.

Just to be clear, because this is already at hundreds of posts, does swashbuckler finesse allow you currently to qualify for dervish dance, or do you need to still take weapon finesse to get there? Additionally, can you wear a buckler on your weapon hand to get the ac bonus while leaving your free hand for precise strike/dervish dance?

Ive never seen this weapon cording shenanigan, the only double barrel pistol user I know has dual reliable double barrels and a monkey belt to hold one while he uses two weapon fighting and just uses a mess of free actions to shift hands holding weapons and reloading. No weapon cord involved. Maybe its more the core mechanic of the double barrel rather than one item that doesn't seem intrinsic to the problem that should be looked at.

I'd like to take a moment to reflect upon the worst of times.

Some call him Kyle D
aka Mr Moustache
aka The Video Guy
aka His characters all have the same name
aka Chronicle Sheet Master
aka GM Credit Disaster
aka Keht.

Yes, Keht of House Keht, Liege Lord of 127.0.0.1, has reached his third GM star. When I met Keht, he was a intensely focused tactical player who was the epitome of murder hobo. He wandered around Carrion Hill avoiding any and all interaction with Non Pathfinder Characters.

He has grown into an excellent GM of good humor and rules knowledge; one who always strives to better himself. His old Anti NPC ways have slowly fallen to the wayside as he trained in the art of Roleplayer-Fu.

Congratulations Keht.
