Good Morning

Please cancel all my current subscriptions with Paizo. I need to suspend them for the moment due to financial reasons. If further information is required to accomplish this, please let me know.

Thank you

Lantern Lodge

I had a huge amount of fun running this, although I agree that it was weak in some areas. My party is neutral expedient, which leads to some highly hilarious moments.

Spoiler:
The first being the encounter with the Roper. They sent their trog prisoner/guide in to negotiate with it, and the Warlock pipes up with "And thus we deliver your Sacrifice, oh great dweller of caves..." The rest of the party is pissed, but by then it's too late.

The Aboleth in the ruins manages to negotiate with them, and for an expedient crew they're also incredibly trusting. Convinced that destroying the Tear is what they need to do, they venture fearlessly into the depths on a mission of destruction.

Now I admit, I had a GRAND time when they reached the city itself.

For a party that is systematically hunting down the named monsters of the island, it doesn't take much to rattle their chains in here. I actually had to tone it down as they were seriously considering turning around and going home 'RIGHT THE HELL NOW' as I was describing the scenery. Apparently houses that give their own windows tongue baths and one tower that picked up its roots to shift six feet to its left squicked them out. Who knew?

In the end, the tear is destroyed, they ignored the other half of the adventure down there, despite me doing everything short of hanging a neon sign on it with "Adventure continues here" in blinking pink lights, and headed home. We stopped for a hiatus here, but when I pick it up again they're headed to the central plateau, and I need to determine if multilimbed friend from the city swam his way up the connecting channel.

Avner in mine unfortunately didn't survive the trek to Farshore.

The very first day they were on the Isle of Dread, he was unfortunately made short work of by a terror bird. The party cheered for hours.

Of course, he was so thoroughly loathed by my PCs by the end, that I couldn't resist a minor substitution on the upsidedown zombie outside of Olangru's home... :)

No inconvenience at all.

Thanks again Cosmo.

I just recieved notice for order 878299 for the shipment of Pathfinder 7. Please doublecheck and cancel this order, and confirm my subscription is also cancelled.

Lantern Lodge

Hello!

I'd like to request a cancellation to my current pathfinder subscription.

I recieved issue #6 of the Rune Lords, and like all others in the series I absolutely adored it, and look forward to subjecting my party to this at some point in the next six months or so.

I just wanted to be sure you were aware that while I'm cancelling my service, its not from being dissatisfied with the product you offer, which was tremendous.

I'll be watching future issues of pathfinders, and will be very likey to reopt in for some future campaign arc.

Thank you again!

I'll tell you what I'll do...

I'll put another Pathfinder #4 in with the shipment of your Pathfinder #5, for which there will be a charge. Then, when the returned PF#4 arrives back here, I will refund the charge for that one back to your card.

Does this work for you?

Thanks,
cos

It most certainly does. Thanks muchly!

Hello!

I was away for holidays in the last two weeks of December, and my esteemed apartment sitter checked my mail, but neglected to actually pick up packages waiting at the post office. As a result, my Pathfinder #4 is currently on its way back to you undelivered.

Can we try this again? Please resend Pathfinder #4 to me, as I'm really looking forward to reading it. If I need to reorder it or give special permission to charge the second shipping charge to my cc, please advise.

Thanks
Diana

We're mid voyage at the moment with Avner being introduced last game. Having reached the fort, I find myself in an interesting position.

Lavinia is dead, killed in the Bullywug gambit as my group switched sides to work for Rowyn, and then decided not to bother checking up on her when they found out Harliss had sent company (Having found out she's now dead however they have quite the hate on for Harliss)

Avner is aboard ships, without horse, cabin, or servants, thanks to our bard chivying him below decks and getting him drunk in the 'negotiations' about same, and the ship takes off before he recovers.

He reacted fairly predictably, and has been a thorn in the side for the voyage so far. That being said, the party DOES keep him alive, if not happy.

The mysterious attacks are happening, although Rowyn nor Lavinia is the culprit, and they all seemed aimed at Avner. He's the one who fell in the water when the rope swing snapped (Which given the drawn out nature of the memphit fight seems to have been the safest place to be...) and has been poisoned at supper which has already spawned a round or two of 'zone of truth' being used on crew and passengers.

Now. They'll soon be reaching the point of a detailed search of the ship, and I have to flesh out our saboteur, and the question is, how dark do I make it?

Avner is reviled, unloved, and generally a pain in the posterior to the party and the crew, but they ARE putting effort into keeping him alive. Now, are their any predictions on what might happen if I make the saboteur a subject of pity or sympathy as opposed to a black villain? (Say, oh... an ex-lover/conquest that had been pressured into the position by our playboy? Or better yet, the husband/brother of that exconquest?)

My party made the jump.

Alignments across the board are neutrals, and four of the five made the jump willingly, with the fifth making the jump because she assumed after the others had declared their change of allegiance she'd never make it to the door.

After discussing terms (And getting drunk) with Rowyn, they rather sheepishly fixed the map in her war room (they'd moved all the pins around) and gave her the copy of what had originally been on the slate wall (they'd changed some, but not all of the numbers/dates/names)

Returning to Lavina, they severed their contract with her, and have since been doing 'odd jobs' for Rowyn. One side adventure of escorting a value animal cargo into town, and another to track down her ex-lover, Vanthus who she doesnt quite trust.

The entertaining part of the whole scenario is the party has managed to convince themselves there's nothing WRONG with what they're doing. Sure she's now the harbor mistress, the previous master dying under unusual circumstances, but she wasnt involved! She told them so herself!

Of course when the PC's send her a pigeon driven note from the cove she'll send help to Lavinia against the evil attack headed her way. Just because she's a nice lady.

Basically Rowyn is telling them exactly what they want to hear, and they're taking everything coming out of her mouth at face value. Yes, she IS paying them alot of money, far more than Lavina offered, and its funny how they justify her blatantly selfish actions so they can continue to collect their paycheck.

***Discussing logistics after The Bullywug Gambit, if you havent completed that far, dont read on!***

Ok, my group is now the proud owners of a shiny new ship, all the loot they carried out of Krakens Cove (and they stayed several days to strip it right down to the doorframes) and not a single point of Profession(Sailor) among the six of them.

They're currently working for Rowyn, and while they sent a message back that got them picked up from the cove and brought back to Sasserine after about a week, they've had no inclination to go check on Lavina, even with Rowyns less than subtle prompting.

Instead, they're looking at hiring a crew immediately for the Wyvern, and pricing etc. Since they need to hire seven minimum for the ship, I'm trying to determine what good wages for the Captain, Navigator and crew might be and wanted to run some numbers by other people to see what they think;

Captain Amella Venkalie (Rogue 4) Paid at rate of Mercenary leader (6sp +6sp for extra 2 levels) 12sp/day

Urol Forol (druid 1/expert 3) paid at mercenary cavalry (4sp/day)

5 x sailors paid at mercenary (2sp/day)

For a total of 26sp/day in wages. Does this seem like a respectable number?

vchan,

I'll get replacements sent out for those issues.

Thanks,

Just to prove timing is everything, I got the 'shipped from warehouse notice' the day before yesterday, and yesterday I had all three missing issues in my mailbox at once. The periodicals finally showed.

I'll send the others back as soon as the envelope gets here. *sigh*

Thank you very much for the help with this, and the willingness to ship out missing issues.

Lantern Lodge

Well, I found out about the transition today, which sucks. Have no idea what option I'm going to go with, but in the mean time, I should clear up what I have and havent recieved. Please reship anything not recieved so far. (Dungeon 145, 146, Dragon 353)

Dungeon 144: Recieved through reorder
Dungeon 145: Not recieved

Hello

You've apparently reorganized the messageboard since I posted this, and I'm at a loss where this post is supposed to go as apparently it belongs in all three categories.

I have missing issues from both Dungeon and Dragon.

Dungeon 144: Recieved through reorder
Dungeon 145: Not recieved
Dungeon 146: Not recieved, still waiting on regular shipment

Dragon 352: Recieved through reorder
Dragon 353: Not recieved
Dragon 354: Recieved through periodical mail.

Lantern Lodge

Hello!

Thank you Michelle for the reship on Dungeon 144 and Dragon 352 on Feb 20/07. The magazines arrived yesterday, along with Dragon 354 in periodical mail.

Unfortunately, Dragon 353 is MIA, as well as any Dungeons beyond 144, which was recieved yesterday as that special order.

I'll be placing an order later today for issue Dun143 as well. :)

Thank you, and take care!

I placed a subscription order for both Dungeon and Dragon magazine on Dec 20 2006. Its now been 2 months and the subscription counter for both magazines has dropped to 10, but I have not recieved a single issue of either magazine.

Please either correct this or cancel my subscriptions and send me a full refund. I can be reached at dcmiller {at} mts {dot} net
