Love the previews Erik!
I'm glad this set comes out in January, more time to prep!

Erik;
I wanted to say thank you for this set. I use non NPCs in encounters, this set is absolutely perfect! I can only hope for non human NPCs too at some point.

i like paeta as well, i was about to give up hope on having an aranea mini in my lifetime, to be honest.

my top 10:

10: female assimars cleric. fighter, paladin.
9. female gnomes rogue. druid
8. female barbarian
7. wall of force
6. male catfolk
5. towmfolk
4. bombadier beetle
3. mule
2. sea elves
1. grey ooze!

let's make it happen.

also gruumish nailed the most overlook creatures not covered in minis form.

the oozes, black pudding, and i'm wondered how can that be? seriously!
also advanced rust monsters (the larger breathern) should be a must as well.

Woah. The idea of mix-and-match parts for eidolons is a brain-melter.

I am seriously considering trying to push for a big hydra with detachable heads.

i don't know. the heroslayer and few hydras are pains to buy alone , i could only imagine the any detechable version would be hard to get.

as an addendum, i would like to see large sized orge, troll, hill, stone, fire, and frost giant females! i get that this hobby and genre is male dominated, but geez!

Coming later this year... (see http://www.plasticrypt.com/dcm_02.php)
I wouldn't even count that one, unless they plan on painting it.

to confirm this, they are indeed painted, along will all minis they are planning on producing.

i', looking forward to these as well as paizo's/ wizkids minis.

Ordered the set and glad to have done so. However, the price per mini has got to come down if I'm going to keep on buying.

Not unless you want the quality of either the material or the paint job reduced. Pre-painted plastic minis are expensive to produce. Wizards of the Coast killed their line by giving their minis cheaper and cheaper paint jobs, just so they could keep the cost down. Towards the end, the paint jobs on both their D&D and their Star Wars lines looked horrible.

If you want pre-painted minis, then there will always be a premium you will have to pay. Inevitably their costs will go up and I hope they increase the price of minis proportionately, rather than lower the quality.

The Pathfinder Miniatures line by Reaper is a good option for those that can't afford pre-painted minis, and don't care if the mini is painted or not.

most non painted metallic minis are more expensive than pre painted on average (i collect all types of minis.) so there is a premium you have to paty for which type of mini regardless.

Also , keep in mind that WotC is releasing a new D&D minis / game as wellin early 2011. So obviously, Minis are still popular.

most ppl who are complaining of the cost must not keep track of the secondary market or ebay.

was given this as an early Xmas present , and was plesantly impressed with the detail, the base clarity, and i look forward to receiving the heroes and monsters brick!

I preordered the begginer box minis set because i liked the look of the miniatures and supported the idea of paizo doing prepainted plastics. Lord knows I dont have the time anymore to do all that painting. And I will take a long hard look at the encounter sets wizkids comes up with. I however wont be touching the random sets. I just wont. I had my fill of random booster packs. And I boxes full of stuff I bought and didnt really want. I would gladly pay a higher price point for what I actually want, then roll the dice and see what I get.

What I won't do is waste my own time. And that is what random sets are, a waste of time. I will have a whole bunch of miniatures I may or may not want, that are now in my collection. I can either sell them off in the secondary market (costing me time) or allow them to bloat up my existing minitatures collection, which costs me time when I initially buy them (opening and sorting the packages) and every time I have to re-sort my miniatures (which happens more often then i'd like). The random set in the long run will cost me hours of my life that could be spent on other things. I am not willing to do that.

or you could be open to trading those figures that you no longer want for minis you can use.

i'm not a fan of random minis, but i'm in disbelief over the reasoning for not being interested in this at all, yeah, pricing..i get that but what is cheap nowadays? a waste of time? maybe in your eyes, but i'm not interested in using counters or pogs, in my case. so why try to rain on our parade?

you don't have to purchase these if you aren't interested. that is on you.

I don't know... I'm still torn and now it looks like I wouldn't even be able to get the black dragon mini if I pre-ordered or subscribed or whatnot.

we're going to find out if this theory over if pre packaged sets will survive in the market come '12..when wizards releases thier D&D mini packs/ skrimish game. I'm eagerly awaiting both sets. ( i just love using minis in my campaigns...)

I am on the fence about selling my D&D PPMs to Paizo and using the store credit to get a case of Pathfinder minis. The money that's being offered is more than I expected AND would more than pay for a case. I am just a little "iffy" about it. I mean I do want and WotC DID tick me off by not keeping some sets out long enough (in my opinion) to allow people to "catch up" and then changed the game beyond recognition. However, it DID take me a while to get those ones that I do have. I guess my "funk" is all based on the fact that these past few months have been rough financially. I am not looking for advice, by the way. I am just venting.

As far as the product itself, The previews of everything so far look AWESOME! If all else fails, I will just wait until I get the money to get a case when January comes around.

First off, as a Player and Collector of both D&D minis , and soon Pathfinder Minis, i'm thinking your being relatively narrow minded in selecting one OR the other. Just use both (leader's , special NPC's ..whatever.

I have very specific plans for this set, my current UBER (5000+ minis) collection of D&D minis , and soon the D&D skrimish minis game. and I'm hoping to mod quite a few (Seelah, you will have fellow female paladins, oh yes..)

I'm glad to see Paizo/ Wizkids hear our cries for minis. 4 dollars too steep? compared to 6/8 bucks for a steel/ pewter one? hardly.

Now i hope paizo read some of the suggestions for non collector packs that were made over at wizards site..and run with it.

as far as a Minis game for PF, if you choose to, allow wizkids to form the rules. this way it allows Paiso to focus on the RPG aspect of it.

Either way, looking forward to the set! (and my dragon!)
