Pony from Summon Monster I is not in the Bestiary Box, it was of course the first thing my players summoned as I started them in on Rise of the Runelords.

Laser Pointers: the new way to protect yourself from Werewolves.

Dragons are often considered feline in behavior... many times have I had someone in my party say "Nice Kitty" to the dragon we just encountered.

Not stated but Rovagug is technically a monster... Outside of that probably something from Carrion Crown.

Just out of curiosity, how long by boat?

Depends on the wind... and the boat in question according to PFRPG Core Rulebook most ships could make the journey in a day, keelboats and rowboats in 4-6 days, and barges in about 11 days. This is assuming the 54 miles is close to the same distance by sea as by land. And lack of extraneous transport methods like wizards casting wind spells.

It is also less than a day's journey by airship if anyone wanted to know.

In 3E and v3.5 a Katana was a masterwork bastard sword, this had to do with how well made a katana generally is as well as the way a katana is wielded (which from a medieval weapons standpoint would be as a hand-and-a-half sword) so I doubt it will change anytime soon. If you want to get yourself really confused historically longsword, bastard sword, and great-sword were all names for the exact same weapon the Longsword.

I've been pretty much ignoring this back and forth since it seems to have nothing to do with the topic at hand. However, it is becoming very hard to ignore this elephant in the room so I am going to quote the SRD on the matter.

Defending: A defending weapon allows the wielder to transfer some or all of the weapon's enhancement bonus to his AC as a bonus that stacks with all others. As a free action, the wielder chooses how to allocate the weapon's enhancement bonus at the start of his turn before using the weapon, and the bonus to AC lasts until his next turn.

Emphasis Mine. As I have just pointed out it very specifically says it is a free action and not an attack action so the entire point of the argument is moot as the PRD very specifically says otherwise. Also on the Total Defense option you cannot make attacks of opportunity which means that if you were right the defending property would not even be useable in it's intended purpose.

Someone above mentioned a half-dragon template. Something that is easy to overlook in that is that the breath weapon is based off racial hit dice instead of total hit dice now, so your half-dragon human has a lousy breath weapon.

I hadn't thought of any half-dragons without racial hd this is really good to know. Also it means that the Half-white Red Dragon (aka the Pink Dragon) is even more insanely powerful than I first thought (especially as immunity to a type of damage makes a vulnerability to that damage moot.)

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Here's one that carried over from 3.5 but I never noticed till reading the pathfinder rules.

You can add the half-dragon template to dragons. When I noticed this I tried to look up stuff on it and found stats for a Half-White Copper Dragon in Wizard's 3.5 archives.

Actually I would like to take this opportunity and request a re-write of Dragons Revisited (maye call it...Dragons of Golarion) for several reasons, stats being one of them? :)

I don't think a complete rewrite is necessary but it would be nice if the odd feat or stat block were done. Especially given the changes to dragons (for example a Great Wyrm Red in Pathfinder has half as many hit dice as 3.5 which makes converting unique dragons difficult.

I was just wondering if anyone had thought about converting the stats for unique dragons in Dragons Revisited to Pathfinder. I was looking at Daralathyxl and currently don't know what would be the best way to go about it as the stats are really close to a 3.5 MM Great Wyrm Red Dragon but would be about twice as powerful as a PFRPG Bestiary Great Wyrm Red Dragon.
