![]() In Way of the Wicked my evil aligned alchemist seems to be the only character capable of providing healing to the party through his usage of Brew Potion. Since we're required by contract to share loot equally, we do so. I then charge 75% market price for the sale of potions, and use the 12ish gold per 'sale' for level one potions to further my research, adding additional formulae to my book. In turn that 'helps' the party in combat by giving us additional means to solve problems. I guess the party feels this deal is a fair one, their characters don't know the price it costs to craft, but they do know that I'm cutting them a deal compared to the market value. Maybe our group is just a bit more easy going with loot though. Despite what is essentially 'ripping' off the party, no complaints have been levied against me. The market I have for them would probably run dry if the player's had chosen things like a healing capable class though I'm sure. It is interesting to think about. This is a very interesting thread, very passionate on both sides. ![]()

If true, good call on WotC's part! To add more to the discussion (sort of), and I do not believe it has been posted yet, His Majesty's Dragon could also provide inspiration. http://www.amazon.com/His-Majestys-Dragon-Temeraire-Book/dp/0345481283 Amazon blurb: Aerial combat brings a thrilling new dimension to the Napoleonic Wars as valiant warriors rise to Britain’s defense by taking to the skies . . . not aboard aircraft but atop the mighty backs of fighting dragons. I think that's two product plugs out of me... I believe I'm at my quota for this thread! ![]()

![]() I'm preparing to DM for a group, and one of them wishes to be a Dragonrider http://paizo.com/store/byCompany/s/superGeniusGames/pathfinderRPG/geniusGui des/classes/v5748btpy8bia This particular character wishes to charge while mounted with a lance for their weapon. The nature of the Focus mechanic for Dragonriders is puzzling, would this tactic only work if the Focus required less than a move action to perform? Furthermore, the lance only requires the mount to be charging to gain double damage (And here's where a disconect happens, since even in a standard mount the creature has its own set of actions too yes?), could this character then use say, a move action to focus their dragon, then have the dragon charge, at the end of the charge could they take their remaining standard action to double damage lance? Or does the Rider have to be the one to Charge, something that is quite confusing when dealing with the Dragon Steed. In the case of a normal creature like a horse, how does charging work?

![]() "At 3rd level, and every two levels thereafter, a sorcerer learns an additional spell, derived from her bloodline. These spells are in addition to the number of spells given on Table: Sorcerer Spells Known. These spells cannot be exchanged for different spells at higher levels." That's what d20pfsrd says about bonus spells.
There's some logical leap we made that it's treated as a 2nd level spell (but I cant for the life of me find anything substantial) and if that's the case he cant even cast it until 4th level at all (even with high charisma like say a 4th level ranger or paladin) since there's an insurmountable - (dash) over 2nd level spells until 4th level on the table. Shed some light? ![]()

Hm? An inquisitor is proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, longbow, repeating crossbow, shortbow, and the favored weapon of her deity. So Deity does matter for a specific weapon goal. Edit: To be constructive, how about considering the animal domain, torn between two worlds as your character is, why not form a bond with an animal he finds in the wilds, letting that become his animal companion as per the domain's hallmark ability. Then take boon companion feat to bring its effective level up to yours for a full featured Druid level companion. Edit v2: Animal domain granting deities are... Erastil and Gozreh I believe, Erastil being superior due to granting the Feather subdomain too, but both are solid and the important thing is the Animal domain itself, both giving that. ![]()
![]() Ahhh. Thank you kindly! I completely forgot about the Advanced Player's Guide coming out, that will likely accomplish what I wish without the fuss. In fact, after perusing, it seems downright perfect. I feel silly, but a tad sad I wont invest the time and effort into a new creation, but damn it all if the oracle ain't a flavorful as heck class. Thank you again! ![]()
![]() Hello! I was looking at bringing the Favored Soul into Pathfinder, but I don't think it warrants a full class. Sorcerer has quite a malleable set of features, so... I was thinking of a bloodline akin to Divinity or something, we'll call it "Seriously Entitled" or, maybe just "Favored" Sorcerers are set up as such that at levels
The sorcerer setup seems downright perfect for porting over a favored soul and balancing it all at once. Their bloodline arcana could be...
So with that the first parts of the actual favored soul are covered, where they use their god's weapon primarily, and compensates for the lack of base attack bonus the sorcerer has compared to the favored soul in complete divine. The Cha mod to all saves works to give the favored soul 'all good saves' as was a class selling point. The bonus feat path is simple enough, weapon focused to make them more competent with their god's weapon of choice; weapon focus and similar. Their bloodline powers are a bit tricky, since the favored soul didn't have that many class features to begin with. Wings were a big selling point I think. Am I undertaking something that's too complex? Does the Favored Soul actually warrant a unique class?
Any input on powers, and most importantly the bonus spells it gains. In fact, any input at all would be wonderful! |
