So, this feat chain has been picked apart and questioned in every way. One part has me uncertain though. With flexibility you threaten adjacent squares, is this threatening with a melee attack, or a ranged attack? I would assume the AoO needs to be melee, but it isn't specified so I'm curious what other people have interpreted this as.

Alright.. so. I don't get the second part of the first sentence in the second paragraph. You get a increased penalty of 4. But you also get a reduced penalty of 1. Plus 1 for every 3 levels past 3. So.... why would this this be any better than just wielding larger weapons... I truly don't get it. I know this archetype was flawed. But I seriously have to be misunderstanding something here.
I love the complex, multi-layered pdf's that are currently being made. They are great, but... they are also a little too much. Seriously, trying to read these books on an iphone is not undoable, it just takes a little while. Where-as trying to view them on an ebook reader, or similar lower quality tablet is near impossible, it can take up to 45 secs or more to load each page. What I'd love is a more compressed, less layered version of the pdf's. Something that would load easier on weaker devices. Is this doable?
Making a Dwarf eunuch, likely used as a guard for women. Presumably in Jalmarey or a similar setting. He'll be a monk, likely master of many styles, or flowing monk. I'll also probably dip into the build-a-monk-workshop in Ultimate Magic. Anyways I'm thinking of more physical appearance. I've read up, and unlike the media belief eunuch do not tend to be hairless. Actually they are quite the opposite, they tend to never go bald. Mostly due to the lack of hormones that cause male baldness. Now that doesn't change cultural belief's. I would figure he was bought and raised as a slave. Eventually he would get away, not escape, likely the lord that owned him would either be killed or be shamed and his holdings stripped. His new owner, likely prejudice of Dwarves for being a non-pretty race, would dismiss him. How would other dwarves see him? I figure he would keep his beard trimmed short, never growing much longer than an adolescent. He likely would not share much with his race and be treated as a child when he is around them. Any thoughts?

I've read through both entries, and the faction entry. And I see no rules reason a Paladin can't be a hellknight. I even says under paladin code that a paladin can ally itself with a creature of any alignment when it comes to accomplishing a greater cause. Which is this case would be the Lawful upholding of the world. He could be a paladin of Abadar, or Torag. And even be bidden to maintain law. None of the Hellknights abilities are evil. And even the class itself is not intrinsically evil. It's a primarily neutral class and faction that bases itself off Hell, but that's just for a Law standpoint. A faction based off Axis wouldn't by essence be good. Just organized and lawful. Thoughts?
I just started running in today with a group of 3 players, all 9th lvl build with basic pathfinder. I'm playing the cleric. The first thing I noticed is that it wasn't going to be hard. The rogue was rolling like 40-50 search checks. So as long as he rolled, he found everything, he disarmed everything. His stuff is legit, he min-maxed for it. If he get's in one of the few combats, he'll die. If he misses something and gets hit by it, he'll die. But otherwise, there's no challenge. And they complained that my dummy healer set aside had no resources for raise dead, that I was just doing it to make it easier on them. I'm a bit irritated that the player that can't fail a roll, period, feels he has the right to complain about me helping them a bit. What am I missing here? How can he fail these dc 20-30 search and DD checks? Why is his check so high. His numbers add up, their either from gear or feats. Is there a cap? Is there a limit to how much he can get? Hopefully, do some of these bonuses just plan not stack? I know he has the search goggles, masterwork tools, high int, maxed skills, etc. How can I limit this some and actually bring back the challenge? [EDIT] partially figured it out. He was stacking competence bonus's.
Alright, I don't know if any of you have read The Wheel of Time series, but what I'm getting at is the wad to spell weave they use in the series. Basically a spell that prevents sound from escaping from a small area. primarily used to allow private conversation. I'd like to say it would be a 30 foot sphere and be a 0th lvl spell...... But, due to it large potential power, I don't think 0th lvl is fair. So I'm guessing it would be better set up as a 1st lvl spell. What do you guys think? Would it be fair to put as a 0th lvl spell, with comparable power to other spells? |
