Lois McMaster Bujold, the Vorkosigan series.

Miles Vorkosigan aka Captain Naismith is also a great series. Read all of them. Its even more fun when you line them up by the timeline given and read them that way.

If you just read your way through a 500+ post 3 year old thread just because it was there.

Crap...I kust did that...Hi, my name is Mal and I'm a paizoholic.

Using the APG race builder and using the kitsune as a base, I created a werewolf-lite that I felt was reasonable for a player to use.

Ok...I have worked out the kitsune
Humanoid (shapechanger) - 0
Medium - 0
Standard ability - 0
Standard language - 0
Change shape, lesser - 3
Bite - 1
Low ligt vision - 1
Skill bonus (agile) - 2
Spell like ability, lesser - 1

Total 8rp

From this, I made the wolfling (cheap werewolf, able to get boosted by feats)

Humanoid (shapechanger) - 0
Medium - 0
Standard language - 0
Bite (1d6) - 2
Lowlight vision - 1
Specialized stats
+2 str, +2 con, -2 chr - 1
Moontouched DR - 3
spell like ability
beast shape 1 - 6

Total 13rp

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I've considered making the spell like ability only 5 points and limiting the shapechange to one form (that of the hybrid, giving him +2 str and +2 NA.
Suggestions? Comments?

there are far too many similarities for it to be considered anything else, even if you state that it's not and i'm pretty sure it's not covered under the OGL.

Doesn't actually matter if it is covered by the ogl. It is a HOMEBREW build.

As to the actual build...on the weapon training, will the increased crit range stack with imp. Crit or keen? I would almost rather keep the increased to hit and damage from weapon training and ALSO give them an increased crit range, but only with finesseable weapons.

Spiked to a wall with a note that says "Stay away from my husband!" and you have no idea who the husband is. And you are a heterosexual male,

I have already decided that I won't be switching from pf to next. Paizo has earned my loyalty while wizards has lost it. I will buy the core rules and possibly cherrypick a few things here and there to put into my game, but paizo will be getting the bulk of my disposable income for the forseeable future.

I am running a kingmaker campaign right now with atengu fighter, a tiefling magus, and an aasiimar paladin. The players are having a blast. Just play like normal and let them figure out what they need. Balance the fights to them but don't worry to much about it. They will figure out what they need as the game progresses.

In my homebrew, I just mashed rogue and ninja together...basically gave ninja trapfinding and evasion for free. So far, it hasn't blown up in my face.

*shudder* yep, Drow magic. Reminds me of the first time my group ran into them evil bastiges. So very, very painful. Pinpricks from nowhere, falling asleep, waking up nekkid, in the dark, and wondering "What the Frack just happened?"

Now, my rogue carries a hand crossbow with the best sleep or paralytic I can afford. (which just reminds me of the 1e/2e poison tables...ahhh for some type XX poison ;) )

The other one that gets me with summoners, they ALWAYS look like fantastical creatures, never natural ones.

Fantastical is an undefined term in pathfinder. One that is VERY subject to interpretation.

.

Understand the difference between an Archon and a Synthesist that looks like an Archon? The average person would need a roadmap and a bottle of whiskey to survive the explanation. The wizard putting an Arcane Mark on the totem barbarian's forehead while he's passed out? My god, it's an eidolon, kill it.

You sir, are a genius! I think I might have to do that next time I play. Now, how to give him a translucent outer shell...

Congratulations Mike!

Who knew I had this many talented pathfinder gamers near me...

2nd ed. I had a halfling with a bag of (black market) walmart holding. I could pretty much reach in and within a round or two I could pull out whatever was needed at that point. At one point I pulled out a jackhammer to dig thru a shelf of rock (the air hose trailed back into the bag). Same character didnt use weapons. He used a serving fork and spoon to parry and trip his opponents if he had to. He used grease and entangling bags to get away from enemies. Great thief, horrible combatant.

At first, I thought Captain America, but he's more of a Paladin.

Batman doesn't count because Batman is a Rogue, Alchemist, etc.
I'm thinking Nick Fury might be the quintessential comic book fighter.
And that's interesting because I think Nick's schtick is ready access to a lot of military resources (tanks, helicopters, battleships, etc.)-something that the Fighter doesn't have. Maybe the Fighter should have a "Resources" value that gains in level and doesn't include his wbl.
