Oh, same here! Although last month it wasn't there for the first time, after the three shipments before had the extra charge from DHL Express. I hope this can be solved permanently, because it's quite annoying to be charged another 20 - 30 Euros per shipment. I do remember that the last shipment had for the first time the order information document included in the package (which lists the total costs, including paid sales tax), maybe that was what made DHL Express not charge extra?

Maya, I got an e-mail saying "[Action Required] Update information to place your order" in its header, stating that there was an unspecified problem with my suscription order and I should update my payment details. The credit card I use is however still valid and useable, although I've updated it now (apparently now you need to leave your telephone number as well). I've already contacted customer service, but of course they are probably swamped at this moment and will take some time to get back to me. Could you check if there is a more general problem with suscriptions this month, as there was some months back? Otherwise it's probably a thing I need to solve between CS and me to get this months suscription for me back on track.

Yeah, pretty much that. The same rarity being both used for "regional or rare content" and "powerful things" is absolutely detrimental, because there are GM's who will not take the time to sort the difference or will just reflexively reject anything which is not common. There need to be at least two different type of rarity tags for any new edition and when the time comes when Paizo reveals their work on 3E, I will absolutely push for that. Rarity in itself is a good mechanism, which I have come to accept after vehemently disliking it when 2E was in its playtest, but it encompasses too many differen categories of things in its current iteration in one giant messy blob.

I also think that this current edition will still last for a good time. We just had the Starfinder 2E release and not as a 1.5 version as Starfinder 1E was. It's fully compatible with Pathfinder 2e (yes, yes, flight was handled differently in its assumption of power level, but that is a minor blip in the overall very high compatibility of the systems), so the Paizo devs would be crazy to kneecap its potential by going for a third edition of Pathfinder so soon as 2029. As for a "Pathfinder Unchained for 2E" book, I honestly don't know why it would need to exist. Unless the Paizo devs themself feel that they have mishandled some classes to a point where they need to release completely revised version (and that is a different matter than what some vocal people in the community feel about the Wizard and the Psychic), I don't see what such a book would bring, aside from already introducing some variant rules which bring in concepts from their in-house ideas about a third edition. I would much rather have them tamp down a little bit on releasing more new base classes and instead give existing classes more options, i.e. more feats and class archetypes. Especially classes which use internal systems which are not very compatible with other classes, i.e. the Kineticist as the most glaring example, still need more options. All in all, a third edition is inevitable at some point, but I think it is farther away than the OP seems to think. Personally I'd say 2033, with an announcement in 2031. The Remaster was the 2.5 version of the game and brought in prior skeptics like myself. That did kind of reset the usual cycle of 10 years for an edition.

Okay, this is a troll post. Indicating looting as something you want removed, although it is one of the essential parts of most fantasy TTRPG's, is already a clear statement of intent that you are trying to make a point about how the removal of slavery was kinda hypocritical by Paizo, given that we as players are murdering and looting people and monsters all the time. Just wanted to point that out, in case some dev sees this and manages to miss the obvious trolling. Flagged and moving on, otherwise.

I think what really irks about of the entire Drow situation, aside from the lore retcon problems and huge break in immersion that all encountered Drow in past adventure paths were some sort of mass hallucination of part of multiple adventurer groups, is that the entire decision was made as sort of a panic reaction (as James himself pointed out upthread) due to the OGL situation. And now that the crisis situation has passed, Paizo seems bent on sticking to their guns and removing Drow completely from the setting, when they could just as easily retcon their retcon and present a clear transition from Drow to Ayindilar. Maybe those Ayindilar used a high magic ritual powered by some ultra powerful artifact to scare everyone away from their subterranean civilization by inventing the demon worshipping Drow out of whole cloth and influencing peoples minds. Or something adjacent to that. It'd be certainly not less of a convincing tale than "Koria Azmeren, a Ranger with a Charisma of 8 and zero social skills managed to fool everyone and a lot of adventuring groups were high on drugs and imagined meeting purple skinned, white haired elves". And I'm pretty sure you could retcon the "snakemen did it!" story into something more coherent and still come out with isolationist lavenderskinned whitehaired Ayindilar having some sort of unexplored Darklands civilization.

Got to give a little push-back here. Building level 10 characters from scratch is a big ask for a lot of players. Hence, having lead-in adventure paths is good for onboarding players into playing high level content adventure paths. There are obviously enough low-level adventure paths out there to have a lead-in for any new level 11 - 20 adventure path and only the most dedicated group imaginable would be able to have played them all already, and there will be new low-level adventure paths coming out in the future as well. But not having any connective tissue, even if it were only suggestions on how to connect the stories, presents a problem. Dedicating one or two pages to giving hints how to connect existing low-level adventure paths to a new high-level adventure path would, IMO, be a huge help to a lot of groups to already plan to continue their campaigns with a published new high-level AP. Putting those two pages into the Player's Guide would also avoid the problem of them eating space in the printed book, since Player's Guides are only digital and hence the page count is kinda immaterial (aside from the work hour requirement to put them together).

My comparison would be with Paradox Games, a company which brings out some highly complex titles, but often undercooked at release and then they fix it over some patch cycles, also releasing new expansions to their grand strategy games over years with big and small expansions. They have a very good feedback loop with their fanbase, however, are active on their own forums and on Reddit and bring out regular developer diaries, so people are kept in the loop. Developers will also often post on their own forum to questions about a current patch or expansion. Paizo, by contrast, gives us some previews on their blog of new releases, we get some Paizo talks on Twitch/Youtube, but aside from James, who strictly reminds people that he is not giving out rulings and Maya, who is not a developer but a forum representative, the developers are keeping very mum about their development cycle, rules questions, errata, etc. I personally would wish for more interaction and clarity. I know RPG players and GM's can be grumpy, but they are not more demanding in my experience than computer game players.

Yeah, communication and fixing of errors has been the biggest problem with how Paizo approaches customer interaction for years. Compared to a typical gaming company in the PC or console gaming space, Paizo's track record for responding to unhappy customers problems is abysmal, both in terms of interaction with the community (Maya and James aside) and fixing active, often long-term, problems with the rules. I get that they are overworked as is, but in that case they need to fix their release schedule so that they can deal with customer concerns better. I will say, however, that their customer service is great in replacing books lost during transit or defective books. No complaints at all in that regard.

Okay, please identify where it ever feels better to do precision damage instead of regular damage? As far as I can see, using precision damage is a debuff for any class which does it, because it runs into immunities other classes simply don't have to deal with. Precision damage didn't use to double on critical hits in PF1E and Paizo did away with that, but for some reason still kept the damage type in the game, probably for "verisimilitude" reasons, which they did away with in numerous other cases for a better game experience. I stand by my point, precision damage is a relic of the past and should be abolished. Although I can agree with the part where there could be tangible benefits for doing precision damage, so that it balances out against the numerous disadvantages (i.e. the large group of enemies which is simply immune to the damage type by RAW).

Precision damage is a relic of past editions and should be gone in any future Pathfinder/Starfinder editions. I can see a case where a Rogue might pull off a bit too high damage numbers overall, if the class were allowed to just spam sneak attacks (and somehow hit sufficiently with MAP), but that can easily be solved by lowering the base damage of sneak attacks or make the progression slower, so that the class stays within expected damage parameters. But the other big precision damage class, the Swashbuckler, only gets one big attack with precision damage per round, anyway, since Finishers are limited to one per round (until level 20, when things really don't matter that much anymore). There is no reason why some melee classes should have arbitrary extra resistances other strength based melee classes don't even have to care about.

Aside from the DHL Express guy not ringing at my work and therefore me having to get the package from a DHL service point half an hour away, things went surprisingly well. Shipping for the Draconic Codex and the AP volume was USD 40, which is not that much above the normal and the books arrived in four days. Also no customs extra charge, although that is a flip of a dime with the stupid system we have in Germany. Having tracking is great, so I don't want things changed back for everyone, if Paizo decides to listen to the people who don't like the new system.

Yeah, the points you brought up pretty much reflect the difficulties in taking a caster archetype. The action economy for a Swashbuckler can be pretty tight. You normally want to move, do your panache action and make a finisher. You can combine move and panache with a Tumble Through and then have a third action left, but this is not enough to get an attack spell out. There's also some action compression found (You're Next at early levels, Get Used to Disappointment at the higher levels, some more things in other feats and archetypes) to mitigate that and press out one more action, but generally you'll have a hard time finding the actions to consistently cast an offensive spell after your finisher.

This item was added in Battlecry!, but I am unsure what the item bonus to "Perception DCs" exactly does? It is not an item bonus to Perception checks generally, I would say, given that the item is cheaper than many alternatives (Obsidian Goggles, Mirror Goggles), which only apply their item bonus to visual perception checks. Reading it as if the item makes Perception DCs by opponents harder (i.e. they need a higher Perception check to notice you and your allies) seems counterintuitive to the item being a banner, meaning something which is prominently visually displayed. You could also read it that you "gain" a penalty, i.e. the banner applies its "bonus" to your Perception DCs, making them harder. But that would clash with the wording, since you "gain an item bonus". Anybody here who can explain to me what getting an item bonus to Perception DCs actually does?

I'm totally honest here, seeing the lack of resized weapons in 2E was a huge relief, when I came over from 1E. I can't tell you the times I was frustrated over the last 15 years about wrong-sized equipment in the loot, the statistical lack of impetus to play a small-sized martial character and discussions with other recalcitrant GM's about if magical weapons and armors should not automatically resize themselves, like wondrous item clothes do. I am very much glad that this topic is done and gone in 2E.

You mention tracking, but currently tracking is not available for affordable shipping (i.e. the least expensive) for international delivery. Almost every vendor I know in the US is offering tracking at affordable rates for international orders. Will tracking be added by default for international shipping now? It is a huge hassle to not know where my shipments are, especially since the shipping cost already is very high for international shipments (for example my suscription this month for the AP module, Monster Core 2 and Alien Core came to a shipping cost of USD 56,25 WITHOUT TRACKING). It's honestly really stressful at this point, because my last suscription from the month before has not arrived yet and I don't know if is still being held in customs or lost or whatever. It has been more than a month since it was shipped, too.
