First kill for me so far, in this AP and in Pathfinder in general. I'm running the AE with a party of 5 players.
PC: Erzalin Faero
Class: Half-Elf Gunslinger 4
Adventure: Burnt Offerings
Catalyst: Careless exploration
Story: After defeating and killing Nualia in the previous session, my party decided to press on even though two characters were hurt (one rather severely) and most were tapped on spell slots. Erzalin took point, finding the coin pillar, activating it with the help of the sorcerer. She then opened the doors containing Karzoug's ghost, the key to Malfeshnekor's room, and then Malfeshnekor's door itself before realizing what she'd done and slamming it shut.
Now, at this point I was thinking "cool, maybe now she gets the hint and will suggest leaving to rest up", but no, that's not how it went. She led everyone back past where the pillar was, and then opened the door with the shadows and started looking around without asking to make any checks. I rolled a 1 on the d4 for the delay prior to their attack, and despite the party's best efforts to prevent the shadows from doing their thing, within two rounds poor Erzalin faceplanted, having taken 11 points of strength damage. I rolled a 5 and three 6s for damage for the shadows over the course of the whole fight, and truth be told I was starting to feel a little bad for my players' luck. They ended up fleeing once they were all able to pull back from the doorway.
Because they had Shalelu with them, she quickly grabbed her lesser restoration potions and tried force feeding them to Erzalin, and due to some help from two other party members and an RP sequence that I thought up on the fly, Erzalin was granted a second chance at life rather than rising as a shadow. They all agreed to head back to Sandpoint after that, and now Erzalin has a phobia of doors.
