My GM and I have been handling this by allowing deity to more broadly mean the entity granting your spells: for example, I am a diabolic sorcerer, so even though I worship Pharasma, for the spells granted to me by my bloodline (like Divine Decree) the alignments I can choose from are Lawful and Evil because I was granted my spellcasting by a devil. I think that fits the spirit of the spell more.

I am really liking how my Diabolic Sorcerer is turning out: my group is converting our 13th level characters in the middle of CotCT, and I was playing an Oracle. I converted into a Diabolic Sorcerer with a small feat dip into Cleric for flavor and fun.

Character's backstory: he was studying to be a cleric of Iomedae when he was framed and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Iomedae took away his spellcasting powers. His brother made a deal with a devil to get him out of prison: as part of that deal, the devil granted my character some spellcasting. He didn't know where his new powers were coming from, is really mad at Iomedae and was looking for a new religion, so when we started to interact with the Pharasman church a bit during the game he (wrongly) decided it must be from her, and started worshiping her, hence the multiclass into Cleric.

Dibolic bloodline is nice because you get Produce Flame as a cantrip for reliable damage, and it gives some fun enchantment spells divine bloodline's don't usually get access to. And it fits my character story perfectly. Happy to share more of the build if anyone is interested.

It would also be really helpful if the listed spells included which spell lists they are a part of - that way it is easy to discern which spells you have access to without needing to flip back and forth (which is particularly a pain in a PDF).

For most of the damage-dealing cantrips, it seems that heightening them changes the number of damage dice, but not the type of damage dice. However, Produce Flame starts as 1d4, and heightening it changes it to 1d6 + spellasting ability, then 2d6, etc. etc. Is this an error, or is this spell supposed to change damage dice? If it is an error, should it be all 1d6 damage, or all 1d4?

It's incredibly irresponsible for a pregnant woman to adventure, as well as bringing an infant along after that.

Pregnant women in real life do all sorts of athletic and acrobatic feats: there is no reason to expect, especially in a world with magical healing, that you wouldn't be able to do most adventuring as well. Yes, you might get stabbed, but you can be cured of that damage. The only risk is if your character actually dies, but being resurrected would probably also restore your fetus.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Getting punched in the face by Sheila was kinda the best (as a player, not for poor Ali).

When should we expect this year's contestants up?
