Ah okay, now I get it. Many thanks csouth154 and Flat the Impaler.

As for displaying the armor mistake, I got confused with Oloch second power which is reveal an armor to allow a character to heal 1d4+1.

I see now that Oloch is a bit tricky. With only 4 cards in his hands, he sounds like Harsk in the early game of RotRL. Harsk could shoot things from far away, but then I often find myself with only 1-2 cards left when starting my turn, especially with 6 players.


Sorry to be such a bore, but I still don't understand how Oloch's power work.

Can someone explain the power with bullet-points, sort of 1), 2), in a real example.

For example,

We have 4 players, Valeros, Lini, Merisiel and Oloch.

1) oloch has a hand of 4, he has 1 armor, 1 weapon, 1 item, 1 spell

It is now Valeros turn.

2) Valeros meet a monster, and Oloch reveals 1 weapon to add +1 to Valeros roll. Valeros defeats the monster.

So far so good.

3) What happens to the weapon Oloch revealed?

4) It is Lini's turn, she encounters a monster, and Oloch reveals 1 armor to add +1 to Lini's roll. Lini defeats the monster.

5) What happens to the armor?

6) It is Merisiel turn, she encounters a monster and evades.

7) Oloch turn again, he has 1 item, 1 spell and 2 revealed cards. He encounters a monster.

8) Can Oloch use his weapon?

9) Oloch fails his roll, can he use his armor?

10) luckily, Oloch took 1 damage and discard 1 item. How does Oloch reset his hand and where do the cards he revealed go?

To the OP and other "Too easy" mongers.

This is your game, do whatever you want with it.

Add a location, cut the blessing deck to 20 cards, film yourself playing, show me how your characters are defeating a henchman and closing a location every character turn.

Then we can discuss the fact the game might be too easy. I am the Doubting Thomas of Pathfinder ACG. Show me and I'll believe you.

Vic and Mike have said again and again that the difficulty of this game was playtested many times so they could find a balance between too hard and too easy.

Most players (who by the way do not come here to discuss the game) find the game to be adequately balanced. Sometimes easy because they are lucky with the dice, sometimes hard because they fail to close a location and defeat a monster and now they are running out of time.

Saying it is too easy is not constructive. Saying, "we implemented the following changes to the game and found it very challenging and rewarding after 100 playtests"... that's constructive.

I am hoping not to sound like a jerk, but every week, I read how this game is too easy here and on the Geek. It is YOUR game, do whatever you want with it.

Oh nasty, our Valeros has the cape of escape although I am thinking it might not work in this situation.

presumably, if anyone is pinned at a location, I can just go there during my turn, have someone throw a blessing at me and roll 2d12. That should be enough, fingers crossed.

Since we spread out our 5 characters at the beginning, we might only suffer a loss of a turn or maybe two.

Harsk will go and yet again, save the day.

Ah yes, my bad, we encountered him in the second scenario (I don't have the box-set, my friend has) but we encountered him several times and he fled several times.

However, the location shuffles were in our favor, and on most times, the henchmen were in the first 2-3 cards and since we were managing the blessing deck quite well, we had a few fights with him before properly vanquishing him.


@Hawkmoon269, the list of cards can be extensive, but when you shuffle 2 adventure paths together, the likelihood of encountering these enemies is low. We have encountered Rogors in two scenarios, but Valeros and lini killed him. As for the collapsed ceiling, we never had to encounter it.

Harsk's orbital strike is now 1D4+2 so he is a beast when helping out and his dext ranged is now +4, so with a magic bow, he is +5.

I am not really complaining about his abilities, we have won many scenarios on Harsk's power to look at the top card at the end of his turn, find the henchman and send valeros or Kyria there to fight him, and have Harsk add a D4+1 or 2 in combat.

I just felt that his constitution was underutilized when compared with Kyria and Lini wisdom/divine of d12/d10, valeros strength of d10 which are often used in games.


I have been playing Harsk in a 5 player campaign for a couple of weeks and we are at scenario 3 of the Skinsaw Adventure path 2.

I have a decent deck with some good ranged weapons, nice light armor and some great abilities to deal with barriers.

However, whenever I look around, I see Valeros, Lini, Lem and Kyra rolling D10s and D12 for their checks in combat or casting magic.

Sure, I roll D8s and I have 1 heavy crossbow which gives me D8+D10, BUT I have a constitution of D12+1 Whoa!

I always try to look for locations to close that would require constitution (not that many even with 5 players). There are no weapons that I can use with my constitution dice, I can acquire some allies very easily... but that's about it.

Am I missing something that is very obvious in using constitution?

Are weapons going to come with "reveal this weapon and add your constitution die" (not sure what kind of weapon that would be) or will there be more monsters which will say "succeed at a constitution check of 8 or take 1D4 damage"?

If the questions are genuine, then it truly show the reach of the PACG game. If someone has bought and is playing this game because they feel like it would be fun but are completely unable to understand the "jargon" used, then I think Paizo is half way having created the biggest RPG -based game in the world.

However, if purchasers of the game have no experience of any game type and have never rolled a D6 let alone a D12+1 - adventure path number + magical value of revealed item... then Vic and you guys have a beast of a job to create a rulebook.

You may have to go back to square one and create a section called "What is an RPG and how does it work" at the beginning to explain basic concepts such as rolling a die which we all take for granted.

You may have to organize a rule-panel made of people who have never play a game their lives.

I just wanted to say a great thank you to Mike Selinker, Rian Sand, Chad Brown, Tanis O'Connor, Paul Peterson, Gaby Weidling and Vic Wertz for this great game.

I am late to the party but we started a 5 player campaign and we are loving every minute of it even if it is quite difficult. I am especially looking forward to my character growing in experience and getting loot.

I just wish there was a bit more background to the game and character. We purchased the 10th anniversary Rise of the runelords book which has helped in situating characters, but it is awkward reading for those of us not interested in the RPG game.

Again, congratulations on this game.


Even more reasons to make perhaps a series of videos for this game, similar to what Fantasy Flight Games does with some of their more complicated games where each step in the game is explained clearly in a separate video.


So, Paizo did indeed make a video detailing the game. But why is it not on the first page of the PACG game? Why is it buried in the messageboard?

I would have though that Paizo would put these videos forward so that new players could learn to play.

Now, of course all these videos are available on BGG, but "Gasp", not everyone knows what BGG is.

It seems to make sense to me.

Regardless, we have started a 5 player campaign, and we love it. Congratulations Mike and the others on a great game.
