This is great news indeed. This will hopefully shake up the industry a little bit, and provide some security for anyone working as a freelancing artist.

High level content! Yes, very nice Paizo. Thanks a lot. Also love the 3 part series rather than 6 parts.

If anything, I would rather see a Starfinder-light, perhaps using the ruleset from the beginner box, and even going a bit further.

A "theatre of the mind Starfinder". That is essentially what our group plays, but the crunchiness of the system makes it difficult to use at such basic level.

I have an Ysoki, and I am thinking of purchasing a stench gland (Armory p97), because why not?

The rule states "As a standard action [...]you can activate the [gland] to form a 10-foot radius cloud of stench centered on you [...] Living creatures that *enter* your cloud must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw or be sickened until they leave the cloud [...]"

My question is: Must enemies (or allies unfortunately) who are *already* within 10feet when I activate the gland count as "having entered the cloud" or must it be a move action where the enemy is further away than 10 feet, then takes a move action to step in and enter the cloud.

I am assuming that if the enemy is next to me it would suffer the effect when I crack the gland, but I just want to make sure, as the "Rule as Written" says "enter" not just "enter or already within 10 feet of you".

Thx

Indeed. That's what's referred to as a "permissive" rules system (rather than a "restrictive" rules system).

Restrictive game systems tell you what you can't do [...] Whereas Permissive game systems, like Starfinder, tell you what you can do

... ah... did not know that.

... ah yes, the eternal answer of the miniature power-gamer. Many thanks for all the answers.

It could. At a -4 penalty to the attack.

Ah yes, always forget that a character can do something that it is not proficient in doing, but at a penalty. If it doesn't say I can do something, I generally assume I can't do it (I am relatively new to rpg).

As for #1:

"Your drone is proficient in your choice of small arms or basic melee weapons, and it gains specialization in that weapon type once you reach 3rd level."

Unarmed Strike is a Basic Melee Weapon with the archaic and nonlethal special qualities.

Would that mean that if my drone is a gunner drone, and I gave it Small arms proficiency when creating the drone, the drone then CANNOT make an Unarmed Strike?

As a new player to SFS, I can safely say that Dan's enthusiasm for the show has been addictive, and a great source of information into lore design.

I am new to Starfinder and I have been enjoying the SFS Wednesday with Dan. I hope the show will carry on of course?

Also, uplifted otters? Count me in.

I concur on the printable character sheet from the beginner box. I will likely be using these in my games because I prefer the simpler skills.
