Hi there so in my present game I am playing a Inquisitor of Ragathiel Allowing me proficiency with a Bastard Sword.

My Current Build has me in my lower levels using a Heavy shield in 1 Hand and 1 handing the Bastard Sword in another.

I am in possession of a Light Steel Quick Draw Shield +1 which would be the same as wielding my heavy steel shield.

We are about to hit level 3 and I am considering taking Quick Draw to use with a later plan of Two-Weapon Fighting.

My Curiosity is the following.

If I have Quick Draw and use this feet in combination with the shield can I perform a turn as follows.

> Put Away Shield < Free Action
> Grip my Bastard Sword with both hands and Attack Action<
> Return my Bastard Sword to a one handed Grip< ?Move Action?
> Re Equip Shield < Free Action

Okay that would all be fine, i was pretty sure that's how it works and i was considering that feat line to work with it.

so I am playing a Half Drow with lesser spell like abilities trait granting me use of 1/day casting Dancing Lights.

I am considering taking the following feat which reads as follows

Sniper's Lantern

Prerequisite(s): Point-Blank Shot, dancing lights racial spell-like ability.

Benefit(s): You can use your dancing lights racial spell-like ability to create one orb of penetrating light. This light grants you a +2 insight bonus on all ranged attacks made against targets within 5 feet of the light's location. You can direct this light to a new location anywhere within the spell's range as a move action, otherwise the effect functions exactly like dancing lights. You can use this ability once per day, plus an additional time per day when your caster level for your racial dancing lights spell-like ability reaches 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th.

So i defiantly meet the prerequisites but i have a few questions

1. I am assuming creating the single orb of light is a standard action?

2. Does using this feat make you lose your 1/Day use of Dancing Lights

3. If it does use up the 1/Day Use of Dancing Lights do I need to gain additional uses of 1/Day Dancing Lights in order to activate this feat multiple times per day as it says i can at 5/10/15/20th ?

Yes i have read the player's guide. she fits into the land of Ustalav like most half elves either they disguise themselves or their outcasted. Naturally assumed or mistaken as possible vampires or some other evil critter. I want her to be naturally outcasted and to overcome it as she'll aspire to do something great for the world that shes felt so detached from.

Hey there so I am in a bit of a daze on what id like to play and would love to hear an opinion I already know the character Just thinking how i want to achieve her.

the concept for my character is a female half-drow((half Elf Variant)) or a duskelf who has lost so much connection from our world due to being outcast-ed over and over again that she gain an affinity for finding herself consorting with outsiders and other world beings to keep her company.

So my two builds for this is either.

Build 1

A Master Summoner with a skill bot Eidolon and small time archery skill.

Basic Build being 7Str/16Dex/12Con/14int/12Wis/16Cha

Half Elf

feats : 1 - 5

1st - Point Blank Shot
2nd - Augment Summoning (Granted by Archtype)
3rd - Superior Summoning
5th - Precise Shot

Traits : Increasing 1 spells Caster Level by 1 , and +2 to Initiative

Build 2

A Occultist Arcanist with heavy focus on conjuration spells.

Basic Build STR: 7 DEX: 16 CON: 12 INT: 17 WIS: 12 CHA: 14

Dusk Elf

feats 1- 5

1st - Spell Focus (Conjuration) Granted by Racial
1st - Augment Summoning
3rd - Superior Summoning
3rd - Arcane Exploit (Familiar: +4 init bunny)
5th - Extra Reservoir
5th - Arcane Exploit Dimensional Slide

Traits : Increasing 1 spells Caster Level by 1 , and +2 to Initiative

I think it's more wrong in his mind and a combination ofmy persistence to explain and him not wanting to argue or carry on the subject from interrupting his game which has plenty of side tracks from others, but just wanted to get the community boards o outlook on it ty

Yeah we explained that to him he's just a bit firm that he believes the intent of bane is you just outright slay/kill. There for cant be used non lethality. Even though I'm trying to explain that is intent is to excel greatly against that appropriate enemy.

Hi there folks I am Playing a Inquisitor of Ashava with the Redemption Inquisition. which grants her the following ability.

"At 4th level, any weapon you wield gains the merciful magic weapon special ability. The weapon immediately reverts to its original abilities when you cease to wield it."

And Inquisitors can grant 1 weapon the following bane weapon ability which is this (bane attuned to species of choice):

"A bane weapon excels against certain foes. Against a designated foe, the weapon's enhancement bonus is +2 better than its actual bonus. It also deals an extra 2d6 points of damage against such foes."

Now when i presented this combination to my DM in combat non the less to say my Weapon is Statically always merciful unless its not being wielded or i turn it off that i wanted to bane my weapon to enhance my chances of hitting and non lethally knocking out a enemy (that i wish to interogate), which just stabbed me in the gut as a sneak attack for who knows what reason. My DM started having a ruling feud with me on how bane weapon enhancement is meant to kill and slay that particular creature and thus should not be non lethally capable.

When my argument was that the Bane ability in pathfinder is not meant to be a outright killing enhancement, but meant as a way to excel against that enemy in combat ( to be the bane of their existence per-say? ) and that my intention was to excel in taking down that particular enemy non lethally for those that i think may have information or preferably a capability to be redeemed for their actions vs purging them from this existance.

anyway it became a heated back and forth argument that became really tense. so im trying to get some input on it.

Hey folks like many who have fallen for this class as a trap, Ive challenged myself to build a Paladin Archer.

I refer to this Build as the Close Quarters Divine Hunter.

I am Starting at Lvl 3 and ive planned to 10

Race: Half Elf (no Modifications)

Str 14
Dex 17
Con 10
Int 10
Wis 8
Cha 16

All Favored Class for Paladin goes to the +1/2 on lay on hands
All Favored Class For Ranger foes to +1 HP

1st Lvl Divine Hunter (Paladin)
Feats: 1st-Point Blank Shot P-Precise Shot E-Skill Focus(Perception)
2nd Lvl Divine Hunter (Paladin)
3rd Lvl Hooded Champion (Ranger)
Feats: 3rd-Deadly Aim
4th Lvl Hooded Champion (Ranger)
Feats: R- Rapid Shot Ability Increase +1 Dex
5th Lvl Hooded Champion (Ranger)
Feats: 5th-Weapon Focus(LongBow) Favored Terrain (Urban)
6th Lvl Divine Hunter (Paladin)
7th Lvl Divine Hunter (Paladin)
Feats: 7th-Many Shot
8th LvL Divine Hunter (Paladin)
9th LvL Divine Hunter (Paladin)
Feats: 9th- Improved Critical (Long Bow)
10th LvL Divine Hunter (Paladin)

The long run idea is a paladin Archer who is ready for going into close quarter combat as well as sniping from afar. He will be a Wand Lover and special ammo collector. He is taking the Disilusioned Trait to make up for the loss of fear immunity , and Undead Crusader as were doing mummy's mask

Will appreciate any ideas !
