as Ellen follows she put her glaive on her back again.

"... well, if that didn't notify anyone in here of our presence I am not sure what will."
Ellen looks back the way they came, then looks to the rest of the group.
"we should get moving before we are caught off guard instead of them."

Ellen listens to the kitsune and leaves the sword be. he seems to know more about magic then herself.

Ellen points out the weak wall to the others.
"Should we check that before going the other way?"

Ellen moves to the other side of the snakes, calls back luna and a red glow starts to emmeit from her. Ellen then spins her glaive at an enemy.

Ellen points to the snake beings, then shrugs, then points to the floor.

Ellen falls back into the order decided before.

Ellen stands be the entrance to the chamber, watching both the other corridor and the entrance to the caves.

Ellen gazes at Keaton, then shakes her head.
"sound advice, spoken like a general."
her gaze turning to the cave. quietly she says.
"This won't end like last time, I won't let it."

"Larry is right, if their that hostile then we will likely need to kill them, be it now or later."

"I am ready. I will try and find weaknesses in the cave if we need them. I hope that will not be necessary."
Ellen says idly spinning one of her arrows before returning it too her quiver. Luna sits upon the top of her bow strapped to her back.

"I agree. but let's try and not provoke them, if we must fight we can always fight."
Ellen reasons as she goes through her equipment.

"If we could avoid conflict with them that would be best."
Ellen states.
"I believe the question is how do we get close to talk to them?"

"very well. If no one needs anything else then we should leave soon."

Ellen takes the rock and stores it in a pouch on her belt.
then looking to the new comer.
"any aid is appreciated. I'm Ellen."

"I don't not. we should probably tell Ayda that we have a leader for this mission. she also has the information on its location."

"we want to go to a cave that currently has proteans in it and see what information can be gained from them."
Ellen explains.

"the librarian in the tower, we could use his help for a mission. we need someone to watch his library while he helps us."
Ellen explains as La'vasa's behavior causes her a headache.

Ellen wanders around the barracks asking for a commanding officer.

"very well, I shall find Adya or another one of the higher ranking guards, one of them should have a manuscript of the ranks. should be able to find someone suitable, anything else you require?"
Ellen asks in a professional manner... still with Luna on her head.

"sorry about her Larry."
she apologizes with a twitch in her eye. letting out a sigh, she continues talking.
"we may require some assistance if you are willing. we require a lead er for a stealth mission, and the options left are Ruby, La'vassa, and I. I am not a good leading, Ruby says she is not great at planing, and La'vassa...well you can tell yourself can't you?"
as she talks, Ellen points too herself, then Ruby, then gestures to La'vassa with a sigh.

with a nod Ellen leaves the room, headed to find la'vassa.

"where should we meet? back here or some where else?"

" I believe Larry fits that description, the librarian in that tower across town."
Ellen offers.

"if we'are going to go on a stealth mission I should leave my armor behind."
smacking her armor causing a resounding clang.
"and I am not great a leading in general."

"sneaking and getting the drop on my enemies has saved my and my squads lives many times. I would suggest stealth for this mission."

with a nod of understanding Ellen puts away the arrow. Ellen stands against the wall behind her, her gaze not focused on anything.

"very well"
Ellen pulls out one of her arrows and shows it to the others.
"this is designed to destroy support beams and structures. If it is needed I might be able to bring down down the cave. I can't say for sure with out seeing the cave myself. I have not commissioned more, I will have to talk to Roland if he or someone he knows can make it."

"... and any thing else to be wary of. and what is the best way to fight them? Because they sound very difficult to beat just from the fact they can take any form. I know how to fight larger beings, had lost of practice with those, but anything smaller I make up plans on the spot. I would like to avoid that."
Ellen questions.

"...sorry to say, I don't know much about the proteans other than they are at war with the devils, so any other info you can give me?"
Ellen says shrugging, disturbing Luna, causing the bug to settle on her head instead.

"I don't believe she will"
Ellen stands up attention shifting to Adya.

"Luna, I believe she is a primal beast, I found information on a forest that has had primal beasts associated with it a decent amount. found it in a book, the book turned into butterflies. I took one with me it seemed to follow me well enough, though it might be a good pet. Named it Luna. when I went to the forest, was covered in sticky nectar. Luna ate some of the nectar, then turned into this. I have been going there to train Luna. giving her some simple tasks we used to do for dogs."
as she is talking Luna finishes eating and climbs up onto Ellen's shoulder.

In the barracks, Ellen is sat down against a wall feeding Luna.

"come on Luna" Ellen calls to the bug as she heads into the forest.
Finding a clearing, Ellen stops and starts do practice stances with her glaive. the starts having Luna fly around her for longer time and faster. after their prep, Ellen sets up a series of items around the clearing for Luna to retrieve.
"Luna, bring me the cooking pot" as she commands she uses her glaive to mark the pot. she continues this with various objects for a long while, rewarding Luna with some honey each time.

After she was done helping clean up the bodies, Ellen headed over to Roland's shop.

NOt that you really need any further input. But, I really think of this as a Wisdom Check...NOT Combat Check. If I had a card that would modify a Wisdom check, I would use it. I think of the Siren as trying to influence your mind...not fight you, per se. So, If you can mentally fight back, you win. So, weapons, armor, etc. do not apply. Reinforcing the thought of it not being a combat check.

As many others have already done, I wanted to add my thanks for the downloadable PDF character sheets. Though I understand the reasoning, the thought of writing on the cards, or more specifically, my sons writing on the cards, even if small marks, made me cringe. This will really help lessen that stress until I feel comfortable with them understanding what a light mark really is. I had previously thought I'd laminate the character cards so that I could dry erase marker them or something similar. The character sheets solve that problem totally.
