"Normally very slowly, over several hours, so that the 'reward' is not so easily forgotten. At least that is, for the first failure. The second time, they will normally mount the head on a pike and call it a day." Yong looks at the boy while saying this, talking in a bored tone and manner, as if he had been on the giving end of the 'reward' many times over the years.

OK here's what I'm going to do: Since this is more of a reflex thing, at the most opportune moment, I'm going to use a Qi point to maximize my speed, my new Stunning Palm (Budhidharma Palm) attack to punch through the wall and hit the man (doing non-lethal damage) and drag him back through. What do I need to roll to accomplish this?

"We'll have to maintain a watch over our admittedly spacious accommodations, in case they are spying on us. It is quite possible, as you said, that they will attempt to use any advantage." With that, Yong begins walking around the central chamber, then his own room, for anything that could be suspicious. Perception, Central Chamber: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32 Perception, Personal Room: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35

I am sure that Yong would know the proper form of respect to a grandmaster, regardless of his or her form. As for me, I'm winging the protocols and hope that you understand my intent... "Oh, great Grandmaster, how wise you are to note our supposed conundrum. However, it has always been my personal belief that, although, as you say, Mount Wudang may be more renowned in terms of healing, it is not, in fact, the only source of knowledge. In order for one to be a true warrior, both on and off the field of combat, one must be knowledgable in all forms of philosophies, whether one is considered better than another, or not. Only then can one find true enlightenment."

Although it is not typically his thing, Yong walks up the steps leading to the Pagoda to pay his respect. 'At least I can work out the kinks in my bottom from riding that steed,' Yong thinks to himself, as he slowly makes his way to the top. After staying for a short amount of time (not short enough to insult the Taoists, but not long enough to listen to their long-winded speeches), he works his way back down. He then goes to see about the emperor to see if he can be made better.

Morning everyone and happy late Memorial Day. I just got back, and I've leveled up Yong. I only need to roll my hp, and I need to find out if my unarmed strike damage goes up even further, as it is already at 2d6. Level 11: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

LOL I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for me. That being said, can you send me a link to your Shaolin writeup, via PM? I do most of my gaming via my iPad now, and I don't have easy access to the link you sent before. Also, I'll try to level up my character this weekend, but with Memorial Day, I'll be pretty spotty on posts until Tuesday. If I haven't leveled by then, could you please remind me?

Yong's thoughts have been muddled for the past few days. In all his years, he never once thought that he would be escorting the 'true' emperor across the lands of his celestial domain. He also didn't expect that his emperor would look like a dog had shat all over him, and then used his face to bury the shat. He was very concerned for the emperor's wounds; he hoped that they would not fester or get worse by the time that the group found a healer for him. Yong was not an expert in the medicinal arts, but one didn't have to be to realize that it would a long time before any concubine found him attractive again. Yong also wondered about the events in the cave, and how everything impacted both himself and his friends. Wu-Yao seemed to have recovered from the naga bite, yet he seemed...off somehow. Nothing that Yong could place, but still there nonetheless. Part of Yong wished that the demon would be the last one that he ever saw, but knew in his heart that it would not ever be the case. One the second night of their journey, Yong saw Flying Sword opening a book under a tree and realized that it was the book from the cave! He had forgotten all about it. Walking up to Sword, Yong says, "Is there anything of use in there for us, or is it another book of poetry?"

Oh crap, I completely forgot about the book. I'll take a turn reading it if no one else has. Also, I would likely take a watch by myself, to get a chance to re-take my focus, and perhaps to practice the marital moves that are mentioned in that book.

"Given that we have injured people, perhaps we should withdraw to a place that has healers that can mend the broken bones and look at Wu-Yao's...um poison. Were you poisoned?" After hearing Wu-Yao's answer... Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 "Perhaps we could get them to Mount Kunlun. How far away is that, does anyone know?"

Yong hears the message go off, but Ji beats him to a run. Instead, since it appears that he is the only one out here with the emperor and Ming Yue, he decides to stay and guard them, in case something stupid comes up the path to the cave. He looks down at the emperor and says, "You are not expecting any company, are you?" (he'll say that respectfully, of course), as Yong goes into a guard position in front of the two. He takes a quick glance back to Ji as she enters the cave, and mentally wishes her luck in saving their brother.

I'm playing Yong as the type that won't typically take the initiative on areas outside of his expertise. For the most part, that will include most things outside of combat. I didn't build him to be an walking muscle with no brains, but he didn't get to where he is by taking risks. That sort of thing.

"Then I will meet you in the cave, if I am not here when you get back." As Ming Yue runs to gather her treasures, Yong turns with rather large bundle and heads back into the cave. Presently, he hands over the various materials to Ji and says "Will this be enough?"

Ok, I'm fine with that. I'll RP in Gameplay. As for the pill/potion thing, I kinda like it; it's certainly different, and takes away from imagination of a bandolier wearing healer, with potion vials strapped across his chest, instead of bullets.

Yong comes out of his trance, having recovered somewhat from the previous attacks. He looks around, seeing the others looking at various things. He goes over to Ji and Wu-Yao and apologizes for having to meditate. That having been said, he asks if they need help with the gentleman on the ground. (Having missed the conversations, due to his trance).

To answer your question, Yong has Stunning Fist, Crushing Blow (reduces target's AC by 7 at this point), Scorpion Style (which reduces a target's move rate to 5' for 7 rounds), and Gorgon's Fist (which gives a target hit by Scorpion Style the staggered condition). Does that help, Ji? Yong stands stoically in the center of the room, trying to find his focus, without showing his emotions. He feels weakened somewhat by the demoness' final attack, and is trying to clear his mind and body of the effects. He allows his team to do their work and will help if needed, once he comes out of meditation.

In order to keep the demoness distracted, Yong will do the following, fighting defensively the entire time: Free Action: Use Improved Feint to keep her flat-footed
Full-attack Action: 1st attack will be Stunning Fist, stacked with Crushing Blow. The second attack will also be a Stunning Fist (only if the first one does not succeed), stacked with Scorpion Style to reduce her speed. I am also using a point of Qi to improve my AC by 4 for this round, to bring my total AC to 29. (Remaining Qi=12) Tiger Pounce Style Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Tiger Withering Claw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Good to meet you Stiehl9s, I'm looking forward to seeing your play style. @CM: My fault for not thinking of reading the discussion threads before. It didn't even dawn on me to look here for my question. I'll be a good little monk going forward. :)
